We're heading up the west coast of Michigan next week to Ludington for a few days and then over to East Lansing for a night before heading back to St. Louis.

Are there any Michigan specific beer forums out there that you would recommend?

    Thanks.

From St. Louis = (Tons in Chicago - way too many to list), FFF, Greenbush, Livery, Saugatuck Brewing, NHB (personally dislike this brewery), 8th St. Grille, Odd Sides, Jamesport Brewing

To E.lansing = Hit GR up and hit Founders, Hopcat, & Vivant, then hit Bells on way home.

Neither is a forum with a blog if that is what you are looking for, but the Michigan Beer Guide does a great job listing all of the Michigan breweries and some notable news about some of them, and the Great Lakes Brewing News typically has three regional writers for Michigan who give some current news about breweries in their respective region. Both newsletters are available for reading online at their respective websites.

Thanks, I'm a Chicago native and my mom lives about 15 miles from FFF.

We've been to Ludington before and we plan to spend some time at Jamesport. We'll also have to check out the Mitten. I'm also not a big fan of NHB. Maybe 8th Street for lunch.

If you are not a fan of New Holland (it really is a good brewery) you can hit up a few other Michigan breweries when traveling up the coast. From south to north, Greenbush in Sawyer, The Livery in Benton Harbor, Saugatuck Brewing in Saugatuck and Odd Side Ales in Grand Haven are close to US-31 and all are worthy of a stop. I saw a report somewhere that Jamesport is releasing a Bourbon barrel-aged stout or porter soon so your timing may be very good to try that one. I was just there last week so I missed out on getting to try it.
