I’m apparently losing my memory, I have read that letter before and just forgot. No wonder I’ve not seen any Massacre lately.

We're both in the same sinking memory boat.

Anybody have the list of stouts that Bell’s will have tomorrow for All Stouts Day?
I swear I saw one but cannot find it anywhere.

Couldn't make it out to All Stout's Day today at Bell's. Any of you who went, how was the selection? I felt a little underwhelmed by the line-up. Seems like a lot of regulars (and multiple vintages of Expo + Cherry Stout) without some big exciting draws. Or maybe after 2+ years of fairly regular access to the Eccentric Cafe I've become too spoiled?

I wasn't able go either, and I echo your sentiments about the selection. I'm certain that I would have enjoyed all of the beers, but I just wasn't excited by anything new to change my other plans to be able to go.

While I visited the Kzoo Mega-Bev to purchase the Goldfinger beers that I mentioned in an above post I saw a couple beers from Hop Butcher for the World. I was focused on the Goldfinger beers so seeing the Hop Butcher beers didn't sound the 'New Brewery' alarm. I later realized that that alarm that I ignored was real. I don't know when Hop Butcher snuck into Michigan but I've confirmed a few of their beers on Mega-Bev's website as being at the Kzoo/Oshtemo location and at the Grand Rapids/Standsdale store too.

I haven't had any beers from them to provide any endorsement, but having their own thread here on BA must mean that they're worth checking out.

Can confirm. Last Hop Butchers I picked up in town were from that Mega Bev.

Hop Butcher has been around for about a year, possibly more. I follow M4 on Instagram to keep up with newer stuff hitting the state. Lots of Detroit focused stuff on their page but it gives me specific breweries/beers to look for when I hit the stores

Thanks for the update. I should be following M4 too.

Hop Butcher is like Treehouse without the cool taprooms, and with a bizarre sense of Ralph Steadman humor. Lots of high quality hazies.

I'll probably buy a couple of them on my next trip to this store for more Goldfinger. My store doesn't carry either brewery's beers.

Heading to Detroit, in a few weeks, and looking for a spot to head to before our show. I was thinking Jolly Pumpkin..any thoughts on that? Last year we did the Detroit Beer Co and it was awful. We wanted to do something closer to our hotel, and that place sucked. I knew I was in trouble when I got served my beer in a plastic tulip cup.

In my option Jolly Pumpkin is solid.

Another choice is to head to Eastern Market. There you have Full Measure Brewing, Lagerhaus 5, and Eastern Market Brewing. All within walking distance of each other.

Batch Brewing was very good for me when I visited a couple times 4-5 years ago.

That's a long time ago in the beer world. Might be a CVS there now!

Jeez, I hope not. Although I haven't read anything about them in this forum for a while. (Last review was just in August, so they must be okay.)
