I just had Dark Horse's on Sunday at the compound. I didn't think it tasted like anything. Puzzling.

Came across this nice post which gives one brewer's input on potential cost differences using wet hops.

Great post. Cost differences were explained very well.

Michigan hops have a different character than their Yakima cousins. Chinook in particular has a huge melon and pineapple thing going on and much less pine. That melon seems even more apparant in wet hop beers. I think they taste great!

Not a MI wet hop beer, but my vote for great wet hop availabilities in MI start with Lagunitas Born Yesterday. Great beer, great price, and hit my taste buds in 48 hours after bottling!!!

Gonna go through a case of this stuff yet again this year......

Has this shown up in MI yet? Hope it's more available than last year, most stores around here didn't get any.

Wayne Co got it last week. Imperial asked me how many I wanted which didn't happen last year IIRC. I think I was limited to 5 cs last year.

I killed a 6 of North Peak Hoodoo over the weekend and its tasting fantastic this year.

I had a Founder's Harvest Ale over the weekend. Granted, it's been a few years but it was kind of a mess: overly sweet, alcohol burn, etc. Prior to the Founders we were drinking Fathead's Hop Stalker and Columbus Brewing Company Yakima Fresh, which are outstanding. Either way, my palate changed or this beer now tastes like a 7 month old DIPA.

It showed up last week in at least southern Oakland County. Should hit the rest this week. Barely made it in last weeks distribution as it was bottled on 10/16 and hit stores on 10/18!!!!

Penrose's Wet Hop IPA is outstanding.
