MBG's response to the email I sent asking about DD tickets:

"No worries, DD tickets will be available for sale at the gate for $5. Please be sure your wife brings her ID - even though she won't be drinking beer, she'll need it to get in.

Also please know that the company handling security for this festival is extremely serious about DDsrefraining from drinking beer. You may want to plan on bringing water, juice, pop, etc. for her to drink. Your group is welcome to bring any food or non-alcoholic drink into the festival as long as it's not in glass containers. Backpacks, small coolers, camping chairs, etc. are okay as well (though containers may be screened at security upon entry)."

Really? I've never been impressed with the tap takeovers. Maybe I just am hitting the wrong ones, but I don't feel like there is much publication about them either. A couple years back we went to a darkhorse one, but it (obviously) had less options than what was at the festival itself. Don't get me wrong, a big pour of bbpt5 is appreciated, but wasn't overly impressed.

 

I've always went early as possible. Short's and Bell's last year were the best experience. Meanwhile at 4PM and Larry and Laura were there. Incredibly easy to get Black Note and BA Cherry Stout....of course that meant leaving my car parked there until Sunday...

 

Short's tap takeover at Pyramid Scheme is always a blast.

 

regular turkey legs are pretty big... those must be HUGE!

I live by Big Lake, they've been most impressive this past year, a great little spot.. anyways it would be nice to know when you can go to the 5/3rd ballpark office and pickup your tickets. since the fire they said about two weeks.

I was annoyed when you took your political agenda out on consumers by pulling out, then backpedal into the summer fest, then not show up for the Fall fest... Now you aren't sticking to your guns? Hard to respect that.

They might not have the PAC booth there this year though.

I've seen a lot of people talk about bottle shares the night before festivals and bottle release parties. How about for this one, are there usually bottle shares the Fri before?

 

With all the tap takeovers in GR that weekend, there's no reason for a bottle share IMO.

 

We usually share @JohnB87 the night before fests/events. He's enough to satisfy a group of 3 or 4 beer nerds.

 

We at Short's are planning on having our annual Pyramid Scheme draft event the night before. When planning this draft list, we try to keep them mostly, if not all, beers that will not be poured at the festival.

Speaking of our festival draft list, let me just say that in my humble opinion, this is one of the greatest selections of brews we've ever offered at a MBG event. I think you'll all be pretty content.
