I'm going up to the tip of the thumb this weekend--specifically Caseville--and wondering if anybody knows if there is any good beer up there. Thanks!
I have not been to Caseville to drink (I've passed thru there a couple of times) but I'll guess that you'd better pack something in if you want good beer there.
The advice from mothergoose is solid. Its been a few years, but there is absolutely nothing beerwise anywhere around that area. Pack well.
Bay City/Saginaw/Midland (Tri-Cities) would be the closest area. The Michigan Tap Room in Saginaw is def worth checking out. Tri-City Brewing Co. in Bay City just released their Regimental Reserve (whisky BA Scotch Ale) on draft.
Thanks all! I will be packing my own supplies. A friend at work goes up there and she says she found Atwater's Dirty Blonde on tap at Capt Morgans in Grindstone City. She says that's the only craft she's ever seen in the area.
Agreed there is really nothing there. My wife's folks have a place there and we make it up several times each summer. I will say Heck's Bar in Pennebog (just outside Caseville) now has Dragon Milk on tap which is crazy considering it is basically a farmer's bar. Oh and they do have a good cheeseburger.
