I didn't see a thread on this and figured we could use one to chat up the Microbrew highlights.

We went Friday night. I don't think this session was sold out and it made for a really easy going laid back event. Almost no lines anywhere. Lots of great beer but we thought two booths really stood out.

    J. Wakefield Brewing out of Miami was great. They had 4 beers. They were all excellent and two were just whacky. The Dreamsicle Berliner was fantastic tasted just like an orange creamsicle with a little tartness. The Haterade tasted just like Kool Aid. Crazy good. Big Poppa was one of my favorite beers of the night. Big BA stout with coffee, coconut, and vanilla. The Desperado was very good too. Had that Xocoveza thing going on.

The other stand out for us was Artisan Beverage Cooperative. They had meads and Kombucha, as well as a really nice Ginger beer. The ginger beer had two variations with and without habanero. The BA apple mead (cyzer) was delicious. Like a dessert beverage. Even the Kombucha was tasty, like very light fruit sours.

Lots of other great beer but these Guys nailed everything they brought, or so we thought.

Great event as always. Looking forward to EBF now...
