Forgive me if this has been covered here but my google skills and searches here have come up fruitless.
I recently bought a used MM Kegerator from a business for what I thought was a steal at the time (450). Came with 4 kegs, CO2, perlick flow control taps, and a MM 4 tap T tower. It was advertised as in good working order. However upon plugging in the kegerator, the fans are working but the compressor seems to not kick on. Ive tried fiddling with the thermostat to no avail. Temps were steady at 74.7F per my inkbird I used to track it after turning on.
I'm hoping I will not need to scrap it or do a full rebuild. Any advice is much appreciated!

Get a refrigeration technician to service it.

You can check a few things before calling the technician if you want to know what ballpark you are in. If you are a bit handy you can check the start relay, generally replacing that is pretty easy and cheap. You can use a multi-meter to check the relay as well as the compressor (google search will bring up videos that show you exactly what you want to do). Depending on the start relay used sometimes they'll include a thermistor that will rattle when you shake it if its bad. If the compressor is bad you'll want a technician but at least you'll have an idea if that's the problem by checking with a multi-meter (won't detect all problems with the compressor I don't believe but you at least are ruling a few things out).

You can look up other diagnostic techniques like listening to the compressor. Does it not make any noise, does it click every so often, does it hum but never really kick in, etc.. I'm no expert but I recently had our kitchen refrigerator fail and they couldn't get a technician out so I spent some time debugging it. I now have a new fridge and a non working fridge in my garage waiting for LG to reimburse me (I believe its a bad compressor but they gave up trying to find a technician to do the warranty work).
