Tom, did you enjoy the beers?

    Cheers!

yes, had the marzen, the vienna and they had just released an imperial stout, nice and roasty.
My favorite was the marzen, well done, though I'd drink the other two any day.

Didn't really go for the place, crowd nor atmosphere, but the beers I tried were solid.

Me too, as I posted in the SEPA thread:

"My quick impressions of the beers:

    · Helles – very good

    · Vienna Lager – very good’

    · Marzen – OUTSTANDING

    · Doppelbock – very good- excellent

    · Pilsner – very good

    · New England IPA – very good

And we took a tour of the brewery. It is presently a pretty large brewery and there is tons of room for expansion if the market demands warrant it."

    Cheers!

Heh, didn't have the doppelbock nor pilsner when I was there this past Saturday. That's too bad.

Have they put up a sign in front of their building, yet ? My wife and I drove by twice, trying to find the place.

    Don,

You are listing on your site that the new Conshohocken Brewing brewery in King of Prussia is expected to be open on Feb. 1, 2019 (two weeks from now). Is that still a 'good' opening date?

    Cheers!

    Jack

Hey Don, just wanted to make a quick correction on the upcoming location of Second Sin Brewing. The address in Fallsington is a carryover from when we used to have tastings at one of my partners' homes, and now it's a pain to get Facebook et al to get rid of it. We will actually be moving into 1500 Grundy Lane, Bristol, PA, where Broken Goblet is currently located, once they move into their new space. Cheers!

Talking Cursive in Syracuse looks like it's getting close. They've also got Onco and Freight Yard coming this year. Things might be turning around for the Salt City.

In the Albany area, looks like Table 41 is getting a physical location and it's gonna be in Cohoes. With the way Cohoes is coming back in the last year or so I think a brewery there is gonna do killer business.

Warrior & Wolf just opened a couple weeks ago in White Plains. Can't speak on their beer but their hours are stupid. Don't open until 2pm on Saturday and 3pm on Sunday. That makes absolutely no sense.

PUNCH: New York City’s Most Coveted Beers Are Made in a Jersey Garage

    • There, on a modest seven-gallon brew system, Martin has been churning out intriguing, delicate farmhouse ales for only a few years…Aside from a personal taste preference, he appreciated the style’s variance from brewer to brewer and the freedom that offered. “Farmhouse ales are open to so much interpretation on the brewer’s end…I can make a beer that ranges in so many different ways—fruit, botanicals, yeast, hops, age—and still classify them as a farmhouse ale.”
    • To further differentiate his beers, Martin created a house culture, forgoing a readily available lab-grown yeast. He notes that yeast character is a main factor in the flavor profile of farmhouse ales, as opposed to, say, hops in an IPA. “I wanted a beer unique to me, unreplicable…I decided I wanted a very distinct house flavor.” This involved a spontaneous ferment of some cacti “to get it funkier.” He started with low-gravity wort, covered it with cheesecloth, surrounded it by cactus plants and left it outside overnight, hoping for the best. He’s used it for every farmhouse beer since…despite his homebrewer status, he’s already begun pouring alongside an elite circle of beer producers, including Other Half and Hudson Valley Brewery.

Read that article and have been following him on IG. Has anyone tried his beers? have reached out a few times to try them but got no replies after he read my messages.

Maybe I am not enough of a beer influencer? Seems his stuff makes it to the west coast.

It's a bit of a struggle to answer all messages sent my way, I am sorry. There have been plenty of people I have given beer to that are in no way considered beer influencers; the majority of beer I have ever given out has never seen the light of day in any social media post. I have always given plenty of notice when my beer is available publicly during events, so obviously, all are encouraged and welcome to join. I have found this is the only fair way of going about things until all are welcome to the taproom, where I have been working (really) hard to bring all the best to NJ and the surrounding area.

So this is cool as hell: Frog Alley in Schenectady is gonna be part of this massive retail/residential complex when its finished, and they're using part of that to partner with the brewing program at Schenectady County Community College. They're gonna have five separate bars set up within the place to give taplines to up-and-coming brewers who want to sell their beer.

It's gonna essentially function as an incubator for that program. The concept has worked exceedingly well with Troy Kitchen, a local food court that has seen four of its former vendors open their own brick-and-mortar restaurants in the area since starting out there, so I think the idea will see a lot of success in the craft beer space too.

Yeah I was reading about that in the beer news. I am looking forward to roaming those academic halls. Is the building going to stay orange ? Kinda garish, although makes it easy to spot the place.
