Update: Also a new spot in Avon called Rising Storm that's getting some buzz.

    I love the Finger Lakes.

    Couple new places incoming:

Torch & Crown: Opening a taproom in Soho this summer. I guess they've been canning for a few months and they drop those cans (and kegs) at choice spots across the city. Haven't heard a word on quality or anything, though.

From the Ground: Opening a taproom inside a storage container in Tivoli/Red Hook. No date, but it looks like relatively soon. They've actually been bottling for a while and you can randomly find the stuff in Hudson, and what I've had has been legitimately really good. Focus is on saisons.

Stopped at Philly Brewing, had a pils (definitely more of a Vienna lager) but it was solid enough. The food and patio have always been the draw here anyhow, but it's nice that they're making their own stuff.

The brewery above Lionheart in Albany is being worked on as we speak, dude said they're looking at probably a fall opening there.

    Got some updates:

    1) Brewery being built in Broadalbin called Great Sacandaga Brewing. Should be open this year but no word on when exactly.

    2) Table 41 in Cohoes looks very close to opening, but no exact date.

    3) After like two years we finally have some movement from Collar City Brewing in Troy. They brewed a collab with Frog Alley, a NE session IPA, and early word seems to be super positive. And there’s been some activity up at the old church they’re renovating — landscaping, sprucing up, etc.

    4) Whitman Brewing in Saratoga has done a few collabs. One w/ Emporium Brewing in Canada and the other with Five Churches out of Connecticut. Neither has hit around here yet but excited to check them out.

Any idea where in Monroe? Grew up next door and still have a lot of friends/family there.

Not sure of the exact location, but it’s somewhere off of Lakes road, a couple miles from the center of town.

Not a ton of info on this but Hudson River Brewing Company is slated to open this year.

Not to be confused with Hudson Valley Brewing, Hudson Brewing, Hudson Ale Works or Hank Hudson Brewing.

New Jersey has that problem, too. Village Idiot Brewing (Mount Holly, NJ/2014), Human Village Brewing (Pitman, NJ/2016), and Village Brewing Company (Somerville, NJ/2019)

News coming fast and-a furious lately.

Foreign Objects apparently has a sister brewery? Discord Beer Co. No idea if there is brewer/employee overlap or what but looks like they focus on sour IPAs and are already connected w/ Remarkable Liquids, Sarene and CBG for tri-state distro. Their first beer is supposed to hit next week.

No taproom or any info whatsoever on where they're based so it appears to be a gypsy/nomadic situation for the time being.

A new brewery is opening near me tomorrow - Perkiomen Valley Brewery in Green Lane, PA. Just submitted them to be added to the BA database
    https://perkiomenvalleybrewery.com/

While the owners seem to have good intentions with their mission about providing a handicap friendly place for their sons to work - they are also going to use herbs in most of their beers. So I have low expectations.

Their opening tap list is also half guest beers from other breweries

Newtown Brewing Co. (103 Penns Trail, Newtown, PA) sent an e-mail newsletter late last month, with the highlights being that construction of their facility is "almost done" and that they have "hopes of opening late summer, around August-September". The beer can be sampled on June 30th, at the Newtown Business Association Welcome Day event, on Sycamore Street, Newtown.
