Hope you enjoy all of it as much as I did. If you get the ketchup, opt for the red bottle (speaking of which, I’m running low on currywurst ketchup...might have to buy some online lol)

Thanks for the suggestion, man! I haven’t been up in that neck of the woods in years. Sounds like I’m overdue for a visit; adding it to my google maps list

Have you checked out all the new additions to the Schnectady scene? In non-Covid times, I usually visit Scotia here and there... wondering if any breweries are standing out as especially worth a visit.

    I have!

My favorite is Great Flats. Love their style of IPA (fruity, juicy, lean more crisp than hazy) and they do stouts and sours exceedingly well. Bright, open, airy taproom too that's my favorite local place to drink in the summertime.

Frog Alley is fine. They've got a very good porter, good clean, crisp IPAs and a massive porch that's also great for summertime. But overall definitely nothing to go out of your way for.

New Druthers location is also a chill place to grab a pint, and I've been increasingly impressed with what they're putting out. Did a dope blackberry kettle sour over the summer I went back to a few times, but like FA nothing you need to make a trip specifically for.

Mad Jack is cool. Good food, good beer, but same statement as w/ FA and Druthers.

If coming into the area for a day my itinerary would be pastries at Villa Italia --> coffee at The Happy Cappucino --> over to Mohawk Taproom for beers and lunch --> Great Flats --> Druthers --> Dinner at 20 North (best wings in the Cap Region hands down) or Memphis King (ditto, but w/ BBQ) and a nightcap beer at Hunter's on Jay.

Also for SURE work in a way to snag some bread and/or tomato pie from Perecca's.

(If you want a full, sit-down breakfast, sub in Malcolm's for Villa Italia)

Looks like Strange Bird in Rochester opening this weekend and they've got like 7-8 different cans. God damn, starting with a bang.

Weaver Hollow shutting down for February to work solely on the taproom and they hope to have that open Spring/Summer. Very, very, VERY excited for that spot.

New opening out in the 585: Faircraft Brauhaus, a German-style brewery in Fairport. Specializing in what you'd imagine and in what looks like a gorgeous space.

Anybody have any idea what will happen to Mikkeller at citi field. Would be the closest brewery to my house, so hoping something dope would come in.

Pretty sure it's going to be Ebbs Brewing, this article from October seems to confirm it but I could also swear I heard something about them opening a taproom in Brooklyn.

Endless Life Brewing opened up in the old Bad Seed Cider taproom in Crown Heights, brooklyn sometime in the last couple of months. I had their first pils and kolsch last night and both were good.

Yeah Brooklyn taproom conformed by their Instagram post. change of plans? Or could be both? I wonder if the taproom in Brooklyn has enough space for actual brewing tanks or if it will be more of an outpost with brewing done elsewhere? Have no clue just speculating.

I would give threes my life savings to move into that spot.

Jeff Lyons, the gentleman behind the newly opened endless life in Brooklyn has been brewing in Brooklyn since 2014 and has brewed previously for greenpoint and keg and lantern.

I’m always curious of the brewer’s background when a new brewery pops up.

Anyone have any info on the ebbs folks?

Good to know! I was a big Greenpoint fan before their move, so this makes me even more hopeful about Endless Life.

No info on brewers backgrounds but I've had 4-5 of their beers and have really enjoyed all of them. The profile on the IPAs especially -- juicy but crisp. They know what they're doing.

Not much info beyond this yet but a place called Return Brewing planned for downtown Hudson. Looking like a fall opening.

TBH kind of wild that downtown Hudson of all places hasn't had a brewery yet before this.
