Are there any Mid-Michigan BAs interested in starting a tasting group? Or maybe one already exists? Other than my wife and my closest friend, I only have one other buddy who regularly drinks craft beer and he is in Grad School in Kentucky now. So I'd love to get together with some local BAs and enjoy some good beer. Let's get something going Mid-Michiganders!
I may be interested. BoneyardBrewer, Semibaked, and I used to share bottles, but Semibaked moved to Kentucky as well! I don't trade beer, but I always bring some back when I'm working out of state and I'm always looking for people who might like to help me finish off growlers that I pickup. Maybe we could try and plan a meetup at Stardust some time and see if there is more interest?
Yep, the only craft beer bar in Saginaw. They currently have 8 taps and are in the process of adding 8 more! http://www.stardustfun.com/beer I live in Frankenmuth, so Saginaw might be more centrally located for anyone coming from Midland, Bay City, etc. Just a thought.
That sounds like a plan to me. Bay City has 2 1/2 craft beer bars and 2 brewery/taprooms. I'd def like to check out Stardust though.
I grew up in the area and still visit regularly. I know BARTS and Tri-City are the breweries but what are the craft beer bars? Also outside of Ideal are there any stores worth checking out?
Old City Hall and Stein Haus are the craft beer bars, which Boneyard mentioned. Bier Garten also has a few craft beers on tap. Other than both of the Ideals, there is Euclid Party Store.
I would be interested. I have spent more time lately homebrewing rather than trading/hunting, but I have a few treats in my cellar.
