Hi. My wife's kin lives in Middletown and we'll be visiting there from San Diego next week. Are there any breweries, beer bars, restaurants with good beer options or bottle shops worth seeking out? A search here turned up Middletown Fine Wine & Spirits as a recommendation, and Dorothy Lane Market in Springboro. Anything else? In the past we've driven to Jungle Jim's, but if I can make do with something closer that would be preferred. Any tips are appreciated.
Thanks, beerwolf72. What are the rules/policies about growlers there? Can I bring a growler from a California brewery and get it filled at Middletown Fine Wine & Spirits or other places? Stainless OK or glass only?
Ollie's does not have any rules about outside growlers. But not sure about stainless. There are a couple of brew pubs in miamisburg you could check out. Star city and Lucky star.
There have been rumors of breweries opening up in Middletown, a couple things in the works, nothing yet though. Municipal Brewing in Hamilton isn't TOO far and has gotten pretty good reviews, I have just yet to go.
BC's Bottle Lodge is pretty solid. Not as huge a selection as Jungle Jim's or Party Source, but worth a visit. They usually have a good draft list, too.
