Going on a whirlwind weekend trip to NYC and looking for 2 or 3 must-go brewpubs/craft bars to hit in lower Manhattan. I'll be staying in Midtown, so the closer the better. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Torst is in Brooklyn, but well worth the trip. In midtown specifically, I'd check out rattle and hum and the ginger man.

Try Haymaker, lupolo, AS IS NYC in 50th along with WF @ Columbus circle and above mentioned Gingerman.

I'll second Ginger Man, but not so fond of Rattle & Hum myself.

And I know this isn't what you're looking for but I thought I'd throw it in. If you happen to be anywhere near them you should probably stop in for a quick beer, or just to take a look at some of these historic spots:
    • McSorley's Old Ale House, 15 E. 7th St. (between 2nd & 3rd Ave.)
    • The Landmark Tavern, 626 11th Ave (corner of 46th St.)
    • The Whitehorse Tavern, 567 Hudson St. (corner of 11th St.)
    • Pete's Tavern, 129 E. 18th Street (corner of Irving Place)
    • Fraunce's Tavern, 54 Pearl Street (corner of Broad, far south)

Yeah , I like Rattle n Hum West (39th by 8th Ave ) better than the original . More taps, and usually a nice selection of sours .

Your best bet , op, may be to check Beermenus for each of these recs beforehand , especially if you are looking for anything in particular .

This is a really solid Mid-Town set of places.

As Is and Pony Bar are my go-to bars in midtown with typically great taps. They're only a couple blocks from one another so easy to drink at both.

If you've never been to Blind Tiger, might want to check out one of the pioneers of craft pubs in NYC.

Doing a similar trip and staying in approximately same spot. Of all the recommendations do any places do flights or don't do flights? Not had many New York or Northeast beers so I'm looking to sample

Rattle n Hum has both an east and a west location just so you know.
There's also Beer Culture on 45th, District Tap House on 38th and Barcade on 24th.
