Im at Bryant park - any good shops (not bar) between here and penn? Could also head as far north as 45. Having lunch at the Perfect Pint. Sorry if this can be found elsewhere on the site but I'm on my phone and searching is tough. Thanks

Maybe Beer Table at Grand Central? East of you, but right nearby.

Midtown is lousy for bottle shops, there's really nothing worth seeking out in my experience. It's kind of a dead zone between WF Columbus Circle and WF on 7th avenue and 24th (not a very good one, either) and the Cannibal on 29th (good but very pricey). Once in a while I will hit 9th Ave Vinters if I'm in a pinch (believe that was the name, 9th ave and 45th or 46th). Nothing exceptional there in my experience either. Wish there was something else because I'm in that neighborhood 3-4 times a week.

If I've been missing something I'd love to hear it. Haven't made it to Beer Table yet because I'm usually not that far east in Midtown.

Beer Table Pantry at Grand Central is exactly what you're looking for. Very small place but you can definitely find something there you might like. Be prepared to heavily overpay though.

Beer Table is insanely overpriced. Good selection for a tiny shop but they mark everything up well above everywhere else I've been.

I agree, that place on 9th near 45th/46th is as good as it gets...in Midtown.

    Does Valhalla do take-out?

well, you weren't kidding when you said it was small....basically just a nook in grand central, with a single wall of beer (any more than three customers and it's cramped)....quality selection, with a few standouts, but limted....certainly more expensive than my regular place (at least for the beers that im familiar with the price) - just like all the stores there, you pay for the convenience....more of a bias towards higher end stuff than session beers...staff was very friendly and willing to chat...didn't buy anything, and prob won't go out of my way to return, but i could see it being a decent place if you regularly commute through there and need a convenient shop or last minute purchase
