You'll want to ask this of the folks in the homebrewing forum. Good luck.

I have always been a big fan of Midwest Supplies. Love the all grain kits. I break down the ingredients and I buy the ingredients on my own and save a little cash.

Their crush was so consistently crappy I bought a Barley Crusher® grain mill and started shopping elsewhere.

I've heard the previous issue before, but if you have your own mill why wouldn't you go there if they were cheapest? I find them pretty cheap, and go there when I am in Minneapolis.

    10# of Briess 2-row + 10# Weyerman Pale + 10# Simpson's Golden Promise (all uncrushed)
    MW - $46.47 + $17.82 (shipping) = $64.29
    BMW - $45.72 + $6.99 (flat-rate shipping) = $52.71

    BMW savings: $11.58

Average cost per pound (including shipping):
    MW - $2.14
    BMW - $1.76

    MW - three day ship
    BMW - two day ship

    BMW FTW!

    Ah so it economic
Fair enough, so it is economics and not quality of the crush that made your decision for you.

I still use Midwest's 10-Gallon Cooler Kit for all grain and 3 some odd years later it's still working like a charm. I've also found their customer service to be top notch if you ever did have an issue with one of their products.

    Ah...nope.
When it b/came obvious the quality of MW's crush was so fookin'horrible...it was obvioulsy time to get a grain mill.

When I gots me a grain mill...I discovered not only were MW's crushed grains abso-fookin-lutley'lousy..but even their quantity-discounted uncrushed per-pound grain prices were seriously more fookin'pricey (+22%) than BMW!

    BMW FTW!

    Twelve bucks is $12...eh?
