My guess is based on price of Barrel-Aged Vanillanoize and I think there was another one that was $66/4-pack.

I’ll come back to this thread on Feb. 1 just to see all you bitching about the lack of barrel flavor on the beer.
Love to see you guys keep giving him the benefit of the doubt tho!

Label art in facebook image says 25.4 oz. If memory serves correctly, most of their barrel aged beers were in 12oz. Hope they have 12 oz bottles, but I don't think they have ever had multiple formats on release days.

Maybe after tax. S'More Cowbell was $15 per, and people flipped. BA Vanillanoize might have been more than that, but it's the cost of vanilla. Regular Vanillanoize was selling for like $23/bomber, maybe more. Most of the other BA stouts have been between $12 and $14 per, if I remember correctly. That's what I'm guessing this one will be.

That’s right, S’More Cowbell was the same price as BA Vanillanoize (with tax and all). (Didn’t S’More Cowbell bottles explode for some people?!)

Mikerphone has been at the forefront of aggressive pricing strategy in Chicagoland, and I can’t really blame them since people continue to buy, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this was another step in that direction.

Exactly, they seem to sell out their BA beers within the first week so I assume they will continue with the same pricing. On the flip side, imagine my surprise when I was at Noon Whistle's anniversary party on Saturday enjoying a BA Dodging Traffic (14.2%), when I asked for one to go and when I was told $8 for a 375ml bottle. Still some breweries out there with awesome pricing.

Just heard the Elk Grove Village fire dept cancelled tonight's 450 North event after several cans exploded and the bomb squad was called.

I heard the fire started when they poured beer on the Mikerphone stereo system to determine ABV because "you measure the alcohol by volume"....

Their BA beer sales have certainly slowed down and even seen some distro. Granted, one was a Barleywine but Bat out of Hill didn’t move quickly at all. We’ll see if that was the start of a trend or just blips on the radar.

I passed on Bat out of Hill 3 times at 3 different locations a week apart. They had 4 packs still at LP Binnys on 12/29.

I passed in it as well until Bottles and Cans got sick of it not selling in $40 4 packs and split them into singles. It was thin, but interesting.

I have tried the Barleywine, but not Bat out of Hill. Based on my experience and accounts of others, they are the two worst BA beers Mikerphone has made. So I'm sure that's part of the reason for slow sales also.

I know your question is more rhetorical but it’s to sell/trade. 450 trades fairly well, even considering recent events.

I'm amazed at how the 450N hype continues to roll on. Whether it's the guest taps at Mikerphone selling out in hours, or someone buying 16 bottles of Get Your Roll On (assuming for sell/trade), or their cans continuing to trade at the level they do. I wish I could screw up so badly at my job and continue getting accolades.

Perfect! I'll have my contact at The City of Chicago reach out to you about employment opportunities as you sound like the type of candidate they want and need!

Something I thought about: it’s probably EASIER to get than before, so everyone, who couldn’t trade for it, now can.

Mikerphone is switching to 750's for their BA releases in 2020. I have no skin in the game, since I won't be purchasing any of them, but I'd MUCH rather have four 12oz bottles instead. It's way easier to pull the trigger on something with that price point when you can open one smaller bottle at a time, instead of dropping $31 on a bomber.

    I'd rather have a $10 drain pour then a $31 drain pour.
