I received a bottle of Barrel Aged Black Hole (the green foil version, so bourbon barrel aged I think) as an extra. I pulled it out of the fridge today and saw it was only about 3/4 full maybe only half full. Does anyone know anything about this? Is it normal or is something afoot here?

I have a bottle in the "cellar" and it's full and yes the green foil is bourbon barrel.

I just opened the Cognac version this past Sunday and mine was filled quite low, too.

Strange things are afoot at the Circle K.

Not sure what you mean by that. But regardless, I'm thinking it's ok seeing as an above poster noted something similar.

Sorry OP, it's a quote from the 1989 movie Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure.. I've yet to try the bourbon barrel black hole, but I have had both the tequila and peat whiskey editions (the latter I can confidently say was the worst beer I've ever tasted). Both bottles were filled up to a normal level.

I've tried several of the black hole editions, all of which were filled to normal capacity. A bottle of beer not filled to capacity seems like an error on the part of the brewery.

No personal experience with the Mikkeller, but I'd say brewery error. Last year I got a sealed yet empty bottle of Nugget Nectar in the case that I bought. I don't think filling errors are uncommon.
