I've had a bottle of Mikkeller Beer Hop Breakfast, which I've yet to have at all yet, and I've seen it described as being anything from a stout to a black IPA. No BoD, no serial number, nothing.....how long does anyone who has experience with this brew think it's at its optimal taste?

Whether it's a Black IPA or just a hoppy stout, I wouldn't wait too long - unless you prefer to let the hoppiness mellow. I've got some Bitter Neighbor that's like 8 months old and it still tastes good, it's just not what it was when it was fresh.

This is what I was suspecting. I've only had it since last month so it's not urgent, but it seems like such an ambiguous beer--and it is labeled as an oatmeal stout on the bottle--I had to ask because I couldn't find nothing on the Web.

I guess my first question for you would be, what are you waiting for?

I have a ton of shit. I rarely buy something stout or porter like and drink it right away. I was thinking about drinking it during the US-Canada game.

I'm with you on that one honestly. Was just curious to see if you're like me in that respect or if it was a special occasion thing.

Sometimes how much money I spent on it or whether it was a gift can dictate to me the situation in which I'll drink something and sometimes I'll drink it on a random weeknight. I'm leaning toward just having it. Looking forward to the game and it should be delicious. It's a one-and-done, though until dinner at least.
