I'm developing an interest in the biere de champagne style and this is the highest rated one. I don't know anything about the release. When did this come out? Was it just a shelf beer in the US? Is it still available anywhere? What did it cost?

    Any help is appreciated, thanks!

Also I have basically the same questions about the Malheur biere de champagnes--Brut Noir, Biere Brut, Cuvée Royale.

I think it's been released a few times and is still on shelves. Don't know if there's been any batch variation, though my presumption is newer is better, given how important the hops are to its flavor. I think is about $25 for a 750. You should be able to trade for it $4$ or even order it online without much trouble.

I don't think Nelson Sauvignon is that much like a traditional biere de champagne. It's bretty with a big white wine character. I would compare it to something like Juicy.

Definitely try it anyways. It's the best beer I've had from them and well made just in general.

It was pretty damn good, but i agree, more of a wild. last time i saw it was 2011... And the first time. i thougt it was a one time only deal.

It's on shelves, says it best before 2021. Had one that was about 6 months old that was really fruity and soft, nicely carbed, but not tart or bitter really. Not sure if it's worth the $25.

Yeah, plenty of it still around in Ohio and saw a fair share in Chicago, also. I think the cheapest I've seen it is $19.99. I keep debating it. I think the most recent batch just landed right around New Years.
