Have a Mikkeller black aging, can't wait to give it a try. All their beers are a little overpriced for the amount

Beer Geek Brunch in Calvados Barrels was excellent. Beer Geek Brunch & their Brew Dog Collaboration I Beat You are also very good.

The remainder of his beers aren't my thing. If you like ash, soy sauce and strong lingering bitterness, you'll like his stouts across the board. I'm sure the IPAs are very good across the pond, or fresh from their respective contract source brewery, however they're never very fresh when I've got a hold of them, and tend to have faded to the point of just bitterness and malt.

Black, black hole, porter, Danish dream, beer geek breakfast, beer geek brunch, spontan series, big worse, list goes on. I don't even look at the price tag when I see mikkeller. Got wasted on mikkeller last night by having 7 new ones:slight_smile:

My favorites are Beer Geek Brunch Weasel Calvados Edition and both of the Funky E Star wild ales. Really solid stuff.

The Funk E^* beers are great. A bar I frequent had this on tap for $5/10oz pour for a few weeks a while back and I thought it was a good value at that price.

I've seen/bought Mikkeller in Europe. Can't entirely blame the Shelton Bros. Bros.
Black Hole White Wine and Chipotle Porter/Texas Ranger are worth checking out as far as the styles you are looking for are concerned.

    From other topic.

I have tried a lot of (over 100) Mikkeller beers. I really like his beers. I know, they are expensive in the States and you can probably get a lot of beers with better price value. Here in Europa, they aren't that expensive, when you compare others. Of course BA specialities are expensive also here. I don't completely understand that Mikkeller hate. Truth is, "he" brew very, very tasty and interesting beers. For instance: Black Hole series, Some of the Black series, George! series, Beer Geek series, his IPA's are also absolutely grate (including single hops and 1000 IBU), Spontan series are really tasty, Monks brew (and BA variants), Mexas/Texas ranger (and BA variants), Nelson Sauvignon (as mentioned), It's Alive (and BA variants), -Goop serie with FFF (and BA variants), Worse/worst Barley Wines (and BA variants), Santa's little Helpers (and BA variants) and x-mas Porter (and BA variants). Also Invasion, brewed at Anchorage (really, really much brett though). Damn...so much really tasty brews.
