Mikkeller SD

Had the Hammerhead Corvette tonight. Pretty interesting for a New England TIPA. Really dark in color and sweet. Enjoyable, though tbh I liked Marathon Man better. Try it if you get a chance though, it's an interesting offering for sure. Looking forward to Round Tower that is patiently waiting in the fridge.

 

So who all is renewing Mikkeller Viking club? Stepping up a level? Dropping out?

 

I think it has become too rich for my blood. Also I hven't bought anything in a solid two months, so that's a clear sign I should step back. If I lived in SD and all those perks and improvements that favor folks in SD more mattered, maybe. But they really went and isolated themselves a bit. I get DTLA is a separate thing, but some connectivity with that would have been helpful.

Also, their customer service in solving problems has been pretty poor for the last 4-5 months, or however long it has been since they changed employees.

 

At least this year they are extending the 15% discount to the DTLA location. While not as much for LA when compared to SD perks...it is a start.

I love that my 2017-18 membership was cut short a month, coincidentally the month that BA Traeblod is dangled in front of potential new members.

I think most of the Mikkeller fanboys on BA are the ones that have already spoken up, hehehe.

I know I am, but I already stated that I am just priced out. Will continue to visit the tasting room though and hang out with my viking member friends on fridays.

 

I'd like to be a fly on the wall behind the scenes at that place. I get the sense that there's a lot of people pushing different agendas.

Sounds like a shit release. At least it's nearby my workplace so I can hop on over if I want a taste of BA Trae.

 

I'm so glad I didn't go in for any more punishment in this garbage of a club. Also got purged on the 1st, didn't really notice till yesterday.

Side note, yet two more cans exploded sitting around from the last orders I placed. They seriously need to work on getting their shit together in terms of QC with cans.
