Has anyone tried this (especially those who love pilseners)?

It's available for $10 /4-pack at a place I'd need to drive about 40 minutes to. Before I take the time to do that, I thought I'd get some thoughts on it (there are no reviews of it I can find).

I love pilseners and do like Pikeland Pils quite a bit. I'm just wondering if this is worth my time and money too seek out.

Woah, I didn't realize Mikkeller was canning at Sly Fox -- just did the research to confirm this, really cool.

Are these cans available in Philly?

Don't know. I'm in Northern VA. I thought they'd be available in PA before anywhere else.

A few spots have gotten these in recently. Anyone tried?

I just finished one and reviewed it. Not a huge Pilsner fan but this is a solid offering with a good hoppy aspect in an otherwise light, crisp beer.

Yeah, all Mikkeller stuff is expensive.

Why drive far for this? Just because Mikkeller is involved?

Already picked some up to day, looking forward to trying it (although I broke my tall pilsner glass of old )

Well, I'm interested in it and no local bottle shop has it. Plus, that particular bottle shop has other items I can't get locally.

Anyway, I did pick some up but haven't yet tried it. $10 a four-pack is pricey, but I love pilseners and I figured it would be worth to try once.

I'll update when I drink one.

I look forward to hearing what your thoughts are on this beer (also, is it worth the price?).

    Cheers!

Well I'll probably dig into it tonight, Considering that people will throw more money at other 4 packs of beer (sure probably of a different style), or even bombers for less beer, it doesn't already feel like a total waste.

Buhhhht, I've paid far less for beers I didn't like either and that's unfortunate

I've liked some of Sly Fox offerings particularly their German styles, and so seeing what a colab with Mikkeller can do has got some potential. Looking forward to it, I am also a little burned out on some big stouts of late so this a nice change to mix it up before I go into some more of them.

On a side note I was told to put my reviews of their beers under the Pottstown location. However, this beer is listed under Mikkeller which is fine with me.

Sly Fox produces a number of rotating pilsners that are very, very tasty: Standard Pils (hopped with Spalter Select hops), Charles Bridge Pilsner (a Bohemian Pilsner) and Keller Pils (unfiltered Pikeland Pils). These pilsners are only available on draft; I have only had them at the Sly Fox Brewpub (Phoenixville, PA).

A couple of times I even had the chance to drink the Keller Pils on cask (served on the beer engines at the brewpub).

    Cheers!

I really found I liked Pikeland Pils, and was even more impressed by their Weisse (Hefeweissen) which is usually a style I don't get too excited about which made it all the more impressive.

Well tossed my review up, thought it was quite good, enjoying it quite a bit!

    UPDATE:

I'm drinking this right now and I agree with smakawat's review...it seems almost like a hybrid between a pilsener and an APA or IPA. Reading the few reviews on it, I thought it would be a bit more like a Prima Pils but it's not (it's drier and more bitter/less sweet).

Dark color for a pils, and very hop-forward and dry...quite dry. Overall, I'm glad I purchased it. It's unique AND enjoyable. For pilsener fans, I'd recommend trying it (though I don't know I'll be buying a lot more at $10/ 4-pack).

Thank you @smakawhat and @LMT for your posts!

I think I have ten bucks in my wallet that I can 'donate to the cause'.

    Cheers!

Huh - how recently was this released?

Has anyone found this anywhere in Philly?
