Staying in Milford, MA next weekend for daughters' soccer matches. Is Hickey's the best place for take out beer? Any other nearby options?
Thanks for the link. Not sure if I'll have time for a tour. Looking for takeout to drink at the hotel. Hopefully some stuff I can't get at home.
Thanks. Definetly a possibility. Saturday's game is in Lancaster, so Julios appears to be on the way.
Short drive up Rt 16 you can hit Crafted in Holliston. Small store, with a great selection. Other way a few exits down 495 is Vin Bin in Hopkinton . In Milford it pretty much is Hickeys for the selection, skip Liquor World. For a good draft selection check out Prezo's.
I'd visit Wachusett and get a Crowler of Larry from the source and a tour. You will also be near Gardner Ale House. Dinner for the family and some decent beer for Dad. They are both near Progen Park, my daughter plays soccer too I'm guessing that's where you are playing at that is if you have the time. I second Vin Bin in Hopkinton or Craft House in Holliston.Hickeys might be your best bet. Prezos as mentioned is the best draft selection and decent sit down food. Garden Pizza ( grilled chicken anything)and Palace Pizza are the two pizza places to consider. Stay away from Chinese food and you will be fine.
Thanks for the suggestions. We'll be at the FC Stars Complex Saturday, looks like the vicinity as Progen Park.
VINBIN in Hopkinton, they get Trillium Jacks Abbey and have tastings from time to time. They may actually have Cold Harbor growlers as well. Julio's if you have some time on your hands.
I would say unless you have time to kill skip the other stuff and just go to Julios. It's your best bang for your buck. They should have some Trillium too.
And no one mentions Depot Street Tavern... What a damn shame. Cool bottle shop - Fifth Ave Liquors in Millis, 15 min drive east on Rt 109.
Hickey's will be the closest, I echo the 5th Ave recommendation. Prezo does always have something good on tap, but they want to be white tablecloth fine dining, which is fine if that's what you want and are in the mood to pay for.
Pour Richard's in Franklin is a few minutes down 495 from Hickey's. It's a nice and only carry wine and craft beer. Very nice people.
British Beer Company is off the same exit (opposite side of I-495) and sometimes has a solid tap list. It's a family friendly English Pub as well, my daughter likes it.
