Benno's? I wouldn't call it a dive bar but its the only craft beer bar in West Allis. They have 30 taps.

There are a couple of craftier bars that have shuttles to the game, and good food. Check out Steny's on National and McBob's on North Ave. Both have good draft and bottle/can selections. Oscars also has a shuttle, great burgers, and a small craft selection.

Other than that, Sugar Maple, Honey Pie, Burnhearts, Comet, Hooligans, Von Trier, Odd Duck (also for awesome food), Roman's, Palm, Benno's, Blackbird, Tess, Riverwest Filling Station, Stubby's, and on and on. Everything people said above me.

For hotels, I would look in to the new Brew House Inn and Suites located in the old Pabst brewery complex. Not much in the area, being in a secluded northwestern part of downtown, but a great looking hotel nonetheless. Check also the new-ish Hilton Garden Inn Milwaukee Downtown. Excellent new hotel in an old historic building. And a new Fairfield Inn and Suites (replacing a Best Western) is due to open shortly, if in fact it hasn't already opened.....it's on Old World Third St downtown. Maybe rooms are not booked yet. In short, stay downtown as most others have suggested.

Unfortunately, from what was posted earlier we will be there durning the Northwestarn Mutual conference, so every place in the downtown area that has been recommended is either full or has a minimum 3 night stay. Looks like we'll be in the outskirts somewhere.
