I'm a recent transplant to Milwaukee and am looking for some friendly beer nerds to get together and taste with on occasion. I feel guilty opening rarer stuff and drinking it by myself, so it just sits. If you're in the Milwaukee area and know of existing regular bottle shares or are interested in getting one started, let me know.

Just curious - where are you located? Downtown? south? west?

I'm out on the west side, but willing to travel to a BYOB restaurant or something like that. My apartment is far from being in order to host, but hopefully after the holidays...

There are actually a nice group of us that have been doing occasional bottle shares.

A few of us will be at Lakefront on Friday morning for the Black Friday release with some bottles to share. And then there is a plan for another share on Saturday. I think "JDonahue81" is the guy setting this up, so shoot him a message.

Oh, cool, Lakefront allows bottle sharing? I'm stuck in Indy for the remainder of the weekend, but will be back until Dec. 18 or so. I'll be sure to poke him! Thanks!

Lakefront is "encouraging" it for just this Black Friday release. I'm not how legal it is since we'll all be lined up on a public sidewalk, but I won't complain.

I'm going to miss it since I'll be out of town, but I'll be getting BCBS. If anyone wants to do some BCBS or for Black Friday, I'd be interested. I've got Dark Lord in spades, too.

It's a pretty awesome group. Not everybody makes every tasting, but there are usually a very nice selection of bottles that end up getting shared.

We do a fair amount of it downtown at a couple bars after work where we have permission, between 6 or 7 of us a whale while almost always show up. If you're interested I can let you know the next time we get together.

@onefiveseven Which bars have given you permission? I've been looking for a bar that would allow this.

The guy at Draft and Vessel in Shorewood has mentioned that he doesn't mind, i think the MKE Homebrewers Club meets there too. The other should probably remain unnamed since it's a popular place and bottle sharing is generally left to a select group and usually includes their bartenders and staff.

But also, Best Place/Pabst has them on Weds through MKE Beer Society and we've also been known to have small ones after ILB MKE.

I would be interested in checking out a Milwaukee area share as well. I have access to a restaurant that closes after lunch and could hold good sized group. The only down side is there wont be much atmosphere since we would be the only ones in the palce. Might work if it is a big scale thing, just throwing it out there.

I actually think privacy in a closed restaurant is pretty cool.

Mequon or Brookfield would be the options..

A closed restaurant is all the atmosphere I need...well and beer and you guys. I don't see that as being a bad thing...no one else there doesn't bother me one bit

Would defiantly be interested as well, I've been trading for a while now and am in the same spot as the op, just have a hard time drinking a rare beer by myself. I'm in Greenfield and would love to hear if anyone is out this way and wanting to do a bottle share!

Count me in for bottle shares that are towards the east side of town! (I'm also a relatively recent transplant & travel to CA regularly, so have a few fun things to share) If that Draft & Vessel share happens, please let me know.

Anyone on here going to the MKE Beer Society share tomorrow at Best Place? I've never been and am trying to figure out what to bring...
