I'm taking a trip to Milwaukee in a week, and I'd like to try as many New Glarus beers as possible. Does anyone have recommendations for places that I can find the biggest selection of their beer? Bottles and/or tap. Thanks!

New Glarus brews 100,000+ barrels a year...exclusively for Wisconsin. It's everywhere. Nearly every grocery store or beer store carries their full line up. But some places, like Discount, will have some of their stuff that's no longer in season. I'll let other people chime in on bars, but if all you want is New Glarus you'll have no trouble finding it.

Thanks, Jerktookmyname. Looking for Strawberry Rhubarb, Wild Sour, Serendipity, Belgian Red, Raspberry Tart in particular. Cheers!

You should be able to find Raspberry Tart and Belgian red pretty much anywhere. Strawberry Rhubarb and Serendipity were seasonals that may may still be lingering in out of the way places (ie. middle of nowhere gas stations and small town supermarkets). The Wild Sour, although delicious, has been long gone for a while now. It was a thumbprint release over the summer last year.

I live around the corner from Avenue Wine and Liquor (google for info) and they have all but Wild Sour in stock along with Apple Ale for sure and maybe Spiced Ale... plus the new Dubbel thumbprint recently released.

I'm going to sound like a broken record here from all my other posts on this subject.

    But...

    Woodman's - Oak Creek

Have all four fruits (boxes of them)
Thumbprint Series - Imperial Weizen, Apple Ale, Spiced Ale, and Dubbel
    And the regular lineup.

Last time I was in at Downer Liquors they had one 20th Anniversary Ale still on the shelf, but that was about 3 weeks ago.

Hope you find what you need!

How about a good beer bar/restaurant near the airport?

Landmark 1850 Inn is right across the street. If you drive 10 min North you have some great bars in Bay View like Burnhearts, Romans, Palm Tavern, and Sugar Maple... not sure Landmark ever gets too much love but check em out on beermenus.com - their tap list is typically pretty decent. Of all listed I believe Landmark is the only that serves food. There are others around too that I haven't been to that I'm sure people will chime in with.

NG's beer finder section on their web page will be of tremendous help to you and its pretty accurate too.

I strongly recommend the Imperial Weizen if you can get your hands on it. Woodman's would be a great bet.

Um, Discount Liquors. They should have just about everything that is currently available.

Landmark 1850 Inn- right across from the airport, low key but lots of awesome beer! Make it your first stop!
Then head to Bay View it's not too far. Sugar Maple, Burnharts to name a few. You will be in beer heaven.

Erv's Mug is another excellent pub near the airport, underrated just like Landmark.

All these suggestions are nice.- gas stations, conveinance stores, woodmans, yada yada yada... But go to discount liquor on 51st and Oklahoma. Will have every bottle possibility you want. And then go down to sugar maple in Bayview. Probably will have raspberry tart or Belgian red on tap. Done.

Sorry if it's been covered before, but how is the availability and pricing of raspberry tart and serendipity?

I just picked these up Monday at Woodman's in Kenosha. Plenty available and they were $8.99 each.

Awesome time in Milwaukee! I was able to score all the New Glarus beers at great prices. Rays and Discount Liquor are amazing stores. Hit up Burnhearts for some flights and the bartender pulled out an Imperial Biscotti with Cherries from the personal stash. Knowledgeable and friendly service. Can't wait to go back to MKE again someday.
