Going to be in Milwaukee for a few days next week, so looking for suggestions. Last time we stayed at the Brewhouse Inn and went to Lakefront and other spots in that area. This time we will be in the Bayview area, so looking for places down there. Any breweries/Brew pubs close by?
In my opinion, these are the best craft beer bars near Bayview: 1. Burnhearts 2. Roman's Pub 3. Palm Tavern 4. Sugar Maple 5. Goodkind: more of a restaurant but great tap list and awesome food
What days are you going to be in town? If you stay up through Thursday, you should look into a few of the GTOMW events in town. I know i'll be going to the one at Burnhearts on Thurs
Brew pubs in the Bay View area: District 14 Brewery and Pub: http://www.yelp.com/biz/district-14-brewery-and-pub-milwaukee St. Francis Brewery and Restaurant: http://stfrancisbrewery.com/SFB.php Also in Bay View is the Humboldt Park Beer Garden, which serves St Francis beers: http://stfrancisbrewery.com/HumboldtBeerGarden.php Milwaukee also has a few other nice beer gardens to consider visiting...... Estabrook Park Beer Garden: http://www.estabrookbeergarden.com/ Hubbard Park Beer Garden: http://www.hubbardparkbeergarden.com/ The Landing at Hoyt Park (Wauwatosa): http://www.friendsofhoytpark.org/Main/TheLanding Then there are the 2 traveling beer gardens that set up in various Milwaukee County Parks throughout the summer. They are sponsored by Sprecher Brewery and feature a pretty good lineup of Sprecher beers. Info on dates/parks here: http://county.milwaukee.gov/Parks/BeerGardens Prost!
Stop by Draft & Vessel on Monday if you make it North of Downtown. I'll be pouring all day, 3-close. We're very close to both Hubbard Park and Estabrook Park beer gardens. Always good to have BA's stop in for a beer.
Has there beer offerings changed that much in the last 3 years? Last time I was at Comet Cafe during undergrad, the beer special everyone was ordering was the Shot of Whiskey, Can of PBR and (for some odd reason) a single cigarette for $5.
Sorry for the misinformation, I was referring to the Sugar Maple who will have Central Waters, Surly, New Holland and a few other breweries there. Black Gold 2015 and 17 will be on tap that I know of.
