so I looked all over and can't really find an answer to my question. I have a mini fridge with a separate freezer, as in two separate doors. I'm wondering how a temperature controller would work with this? Anyone have any ideas? In before someone says trade it for a regular fridge as I have a small apartment with no room. Thanks in advance

I can't give you a technical answer, but I can say that both compartments won't be the same temp. All the temperature controller does is control power to the entire unit as if it were plugged into a switched outlet and you turn the switch on and off. So, your temp probe would have to go in one compartment or the other and the controller will turn it off and on to maintain the compartment that the probe is in to the set temp. The question becomes if a fridge runs for say 10 minutes to maintain temp in the fridge, how cold does the freezer get. Or vice versa. Worst case you could put the probe in the freezer and put the fridge to max cold, but my suspicion is that if you set the freezer to 50, the fridge part would be much warmer. But at least that way nothing will freeze. If you put the probe in the fridge, the freezer part may get too cold, even with the freezer set to minimum cooling. You might get lucky though and find a set point where it works out. You'd need a secondary temp probe in the other compartment though and I'd monitor it for a while. Or you may want to experiment and put the controller on the freezer and set it a little cooler, say 40 degrees (that way the fridge runs longer), and only put beers in there that you want kept cold. You might get lucky and find the fridge part stays in the 50-60 range.
