I think you can find that about anywhere in the Twin Cities. Goes with the territory, and you just have to not let it bug you.

Self absorbed and stuffy? I must go on nights that you don't. Never noticed that. The pizza is fantastic. Have yet to get to Young Joni's.

To prove I'm not always an au contraire assface, I agree with everything here.

I'll preface this by saying I've only been there twice. Last Spring, I met a buddy there for dinner. There was a 40ish year old couple next to us on the patio with their smallish 2 kids. The kids started climbing on our benches and literally jumping off of them, while we were eating. I went over and asked the parents if they could please ask their kids not to do that (after giving them the opportunity to stop it for about 3 jumps on their own). They acted all offended and actually made the waiter move them to another table. It was ridiculous.

I'm a fan of Muddy Waters for food and beer, too. There are a couple of brew pubs across the street: LynnLake and Herkimer. You can skip them.

If you end up going to Parlour (which is a great choice for cocktails by the way), be sure to check what Borough (high-brow restaurant above Parlour) has on tap that evening. It will be a small selection, but they always seem to get top notch stuff. Back in January-February, they had both Abraxas and BA Ten-Fidy flowing for a bit at the same time. They also just had a Forager dinner a few weeks ago and have done BCBS takeovers with multiple vintages. You don't need to get a table/reservation to drink beer there. They'll still wait on you even if you're just hanging out having a few by the couches or standing. Maybe someone else here can vouch for their food? It would be nice if Parlour would have the same stuff on tap, but I don't think they do. Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong on that...

Also, as someone likely mentioned already, be sure to go to Indeed Brewing. Indeed would be on my short list of best breweries in the metro, it's a must stop.

I'm curious why? Every time I've been to their taproom all they have is the same 5 or so beers I can find at any shop in town at a higher price than buying a bottle. I like their beer, I just don't see what makes them worth a trip to the burbs.

I agree, wouldn't be on my short list. However, they are starting to have more taproom only options. I think they've done two or three brewers selections and had a tart cherry before the dawn.

Yes, food at Borough is top notch. Probably top 5-10 fine dining in the Twin Cities.

I'm a big fan of before the dawn and lunker. As far as i know, these beers aren't available outside of the tap room. Their other offerings while available elsewhere are well made and worth trying if you're already there

Every time I've stopped at Steel Toe I've had beers that weren't available outside the tap room.

According to Steel Toe's website, both Lunker and Before the Dawn are being poured in the tap room right now. Those two beers are enough of a reason to head there.

Psycho Suzi's is neat. If you're going to Psycho, stopping at Betty Dangers may be fun too. BD has a ferris wheel, mini golf, and beers.

You can also get the Parlour Burger at the bar upstairs at Borough. My favorite burger in town!

Chances of finding DDH Psuedo anywhere in Minneapolis today? Not sure how often that stuff gets brewed/released...

Slim to none, unfortunately. The last drop of DDH Sue was a few weeks ago, and most places got a 1-2 cases or less this time. you may be able to find some Mosaic dry-hop Sue though...

If you have a car, drive the 45 minutes to Casanova in Hudson, WI. You might want to call beforehand, but someone recently said the have both the DH Sues.

Went to Casanova and got both Sues, Pompei, and two other TG IPAs that just showed up at the store today. Really appreciate the info!
