I think what qualifies a nano vs a micro is the size of the brewhouse and not the breweries annual output. Anything under 7bbl is a nano in my opinion. Just got back from Bang, cool little joint. The one beer they have right now is called Neat, single malt single hop. He said they use organic ingredients, but I'm not sure if it was just the malt or if the hops are as well. The beer is a pale ale and it's very dry and hella bitter, I liked it quite abit. Bangs system is a 10bbl, same size as Dangerous Man for reference.

Glad to see the Gunflint Tavern project is finally moving ahead. They're nice folks, and they've always supported MN breweries.

Gunflint Tavern is my favorite spot up there, although I think we are selling our place up there soon :slight_frown:
Didn't even know they we going to be brewing.

Its been 'in the works' for a long time. I suppose that is how these things tend to go. Last I heard the brewing piece of the operation was going to be called 'Big Swamp', although that doesnt appear to be the case anymore

Saw a few mentions of Red Wing Brewery from 2012. I'd highly suggest to revisit the place if only for the amazing pizza they added to the menu last spring. They use a local bakery where they incorporate the grains from their beer into the dough.

I'd agree in general about the beer from a few posts on here. They aren't putting out anything crazy, but its good beer overall.
