I'm more interested in the bacon wrapped turkey leg.

I couldn't agree more. When I want beer I want beer. When I want gelato I want gelato. I don't want them mixed together, or even accompanying each other. This heart attack inducing state fair food had been getting more and more eclectic (no, that word has too many positive connotations), extreme (no, again that word has too many positive connotations), needy for attention (yeah, that's it). They've got to have some weird new concoction every year, one that no self respecting chef would ever come up with, to draw in the hoards of lowest common denominator fair goers. At least turkey with bacon sounds like a legitimate food combination.

Almost anything with bacon is a legitimate food combination.

Bacon is good, It's too bad the hipsters had to ruin it though.

I prefer my bacon with a maltier beer. Something like a brown ale, or maybe a marzen. Hell, pretty much any German style goes great with bacon. That's what they need to do at the state fair -- German beer and bacon.

Deep fried and on a stick.

No, fried, chopped up, mixed with German style pulled pork, and stuffed into an onion. The gimmick on deep fried and on a stick has run its course.

Beer flavored ice cream is wonderful. I always have Izzy's Summit Oatmeal Stout ice cream in my freezer. I once had Furious ice cream from Pumphouse Creamery, it was strangely good. Cow Bella made Darkness gelato sometime ago and it was amazing! Looking forward to Mancini's take on it at The Fair.

Get over to American Sky Brewing in Hudson(5 minutes south of Casanova) on Sundays 12-4 for bacon and beer. The coffee stout really goes well with it.

After checking out their website I see that they are basing their business on the exploitation of their 'love' for the U.S. Military. As a veteran, I find this detestable to say the least. I did not fight so that some civilian fuck could make a dollar off of the exploitation of my service. I will not drink there, and I urge others to do the same. I know that this comment has nothing to do with this thread, but I feel I needed to make it.
