Mirror Mirror release date = March 6th

I landed one as an extra and was anxious to get into it, but after drinking it I have to argue the "English" notation. It had a strong hop aroma and bitterness much more suited for an American barleywine. I enjoyed it but I can't call it English. There's so few American breweries who can do an English BW right and this is one who tried, but missed the mark. Good, but not great. A year on it would do a good job taming the bitterness IMO.

 

I bought 2 MM, drank one and loved it. I'm going to hold on to the other one until the "best after" date. To those who may be critical of it, they do recommend we sit on it for about 10 months.

 

Grabbed another bottle bringing the number of bottles in my cellar to three. I think I'm going to drink them in 1, 2.5, and 5 year intervals unless they release it in the rumored two year rotations. In that case, I'm going to aim for a three bottle vertical.

yea definitely drink now don't see how age would make this better its great fresh now

 

I just had it fresh this weekend and it was great. Seemed pretty "English" to me.

Will hold onto another couple bottles for cellaring (if I can resist) and may grab 1-2 more if it's still so abundant in a week or so to send to East Coast friends.

 

Visited Ohio yesterday, and there were bottles at both beer stops I made. I might kick myself for only buying one bottle, but time will be the judge.

 

Total Wine was out of this in hours, up here.
