Yep. Both outstanding although the 2010 was actually the 2009 and in bottles. The 2009 was tasting better than ever.

Looks like it landed in various stores around the Twin Cities metro today. Lake Wine & Spirits, Zipp's, Heritage, & Marshall Liquors all tweeted about it.

Ages amazingly. Opened my 2009 last June and it was amazing. Although it did show signs of "good timing on drinking me now sir" but still felt another 6 or so months wouldn't have been to detrimental. I was gonna go to Pat's but by the time I could have left traffic looks awful, so I opened some 2012 Central Waters BBBW.

I heard rumors of possible infection problems, is that for the 2014 vintage?

2010 was infected, or at least a good portion of bottles were. I imagine they used the last 4 years to figure that shit out. 2014 was drinking great last night.

Yeah, I had a couple of '09s right away that weren't bad, but didn't taste like they should have.

They started pasteurizing The Abyss after the '09 Abyssident debacle (not to mention the Mirror Mirror issues), I wonder if they've done the same with the current batch of Mirror Mirror.

Interesting... So the 2009 Mirror Mirror had bottle infection problems. I drank one in 2010 and another in roughly 2012 and thought they were both great. No hint of an infection that I found.

I never had any previous versions so I didn't have anything to compare them with but whenever I see one I always pick it up. I think I might have picked up a 2009 Mirror Mirror not too long ago at a bottle shop that was doing a Christmas cellar purge to reward their customers. Wonder how that will taste. I forgot I had it. Pretty sure there's one down there?!

Picked up five Mirror Mirrors today. Hoping to get few more and call it good. Taste one now and then cellar the rest as they are as hard as Abyss for me to not drink.

Was only able to pick up 1 bottle the other day, and it's my first time having it. Would you suggest I drink it now or cellar it?

Edina Liquor (100 and Vernon location, specifically) had plenty of them last night. $16.99.

People always say you should drink a beer fresh before you decide to cellar it. I would try to find it on tap and then you can decide what to do with your bottle.

One could argue it's cellared already being BA. However I had it 6 months old, 1 year old and 5 years old (the last batch obviously) and thought it was stellar all 3 times. Did one stand out to me, nope just great everytime. so honestly assuming I can manage any this time I doubt I'll cellar it or if I do 1 bottle just because I have so many other great beers in my cellar that are nearing that dreaded "DRINK ME NOW" date. That and I'm kaboshing my cellar, sick of storing beer, just want to drink it.

I would drink it fresh personally. Its already crazy smooth and the wine barrel is what makes the beer. As that fades, I think it will become a less interesting beer.

What are peoples thoughts around Deschutes "best after" dates?

I generally don't drink milk after its expiration date. It just doesn't taste as good. I'm assuming Deschutes knows when their beer "tastes best after" more than I do.

They know their shit. Although their beers with "Best AFter" dates are generally already aged X months in barrels and are usually great fresh. Most are far better around the Best After. With maybe one exception, Collage, that beer has continued to get nothing but better as the Dissident finally fades a bit more from it.
