The site seems to be miscounting the number of states that I have reviewed beers from. It says I have reviewed from 8 states when I count 10. This isn't a big deal, but maybe it represents an underlying issue? If it's helpful, the breweries I have reviewed from (and their states) is below.
    Cheers,
    Tim

CA (ballast point, lagunitas, Matt brewing, sierra nevada)
NY (ommegang, lake placid, southern tier)
    VT (switchback, alchemist, the shed)
    FL (cigar city)
    DE (dogfish head)
    OH (fat head's)
    CO (new belgium)
    NH (red hook)
    ME (shipyard)
    UT (uinta)

Breweries that have a master listing do not count in the states count. In your case, I see Dogfish Head and Cigar City which both have master listings because of multiple brewing locations.

@dbrauneis is there a way to see what states we're missing easily? I know it says I'm at 45, but not which ones I'm missing

Not currently that I am aware of... @Todd mentioned this might be coming in the enhanced stats that will be included in the site redesign but I'm not sure when those will be available.

I personally have kept a spreadsheet/Google Doc to keep track of countries and states.

The states I seem to recall being the hardest to get (because of distribution) are West Virginia, Alabama, Arkansas, North Dakota, and South Dakota... Maybe you are missing one or more of those?

You can probably add CT to that list. I recently went through my state counts and determined that CT was missing. In looking at the list of breweries in CT, I didn't see any that have a wide distro. That's surprising to discover, at least to me.

Yeah, I can see that but I personally did not experience that as I had business travel frequently to CT for a number of years and then lived in the greater NYC area for a couple more years...

I was just mentioning some that I knew were more difficult for me to track down beers from... I left off New Mexico since the person that asked the question was from Texas and I think there is a decent amount of distribution across state lines there.

I guess I should mention to people looking for state by state distribution, the best resource I am aware of is seekabrew.

My daughter lives in the Boston area, so that's kind of why CT surprised me that I hadn't bought a beer from CT while in Boston. The NM choice was also a last minute 'find' for me. I just returned from a trip to AZ where I added a NM beer to my list. I added SD last year while traveling thru that state, but I wasn't successful in getting something from ND. So that one plus WV, AL and CT are my only missing states.

I'm only missing Arkansas and South Dakota (and I used to travel to Arkansas all the time but those days are behind me now).

Regarding state (and country) counts for beers reviewed.... Does DC count as a "state"? Any easy way to find which states you have/haven't sampled from? Also, are UK (England) and UK (Scotland) counted separately?

    Thnx

I think most people who are on the quest to have a beer from each state will count DC as a 'state' too. I don't think there is any easy way to pull your state count from your beer list here on BA (I've kept a spreadsheet over the years with my data), but there has been a couple threads on this topic in the Beer Talk forum over the past several years, and you might find suggestions in one of those threads about ways to get the info (if there is a work-around way). The BA search feature never seems to come up with those threads if you use '50' as your key word in the search, so I suggest that you try Google and see if the BA threads come up that way.

DC counts in the States statistic on the BA site.

UK (England) and UK (Scotland) are counted separately as well.

Beerfly reviews can sort by location (city, state etc) but Beer reviews just by name, brewery or style, not with more in-depth location info... Ok thnx for the help! I'll keep working on it!

    Prosit!

So BBC does not count for Mass (or Ohio or Pa?) That, plus DFH would explain why I am only at 11, and not 13 (12 states plus DC) Also that will make Delaware pretty hard to get

Anyone else experience this? Have not had anything from Alabama, Mississippi, Nevada, North Dakota, South Dakota, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wyoming. Cannot figure out what's going on after double and triple checking.

    Mods...help?

For clarification, these are old ratings. I know it takes a few hours to post sometimes.

So you're saying despite having 16 beers from DFH that wouldn't count as Delaware on stats?!

No. DFH now has one of the new master listings, so it should count.

I believe this is the state not counting for me. I can't see which other brewery would give me this issue.
