Going to be in the Mishawaka area next week was wanting to know about craft bars and possibly a great store. I looked at the "places" section but the reviews looked old is the Midway Tavern, Bar Louie, or Bleachers have that great of a tap list? Thanks for your help. I'd really like to try some FFF.

Mishawaka to FFF is about an hour and ten minute trip. I'd recommend a stop at Bare Hands in Granger IN and Greenbush in Sawyer MI.

The Martin's Grocery store on SR23 and Ironwood usually has decent amount of FFF's and FOunders beers for sale. Just remember you can't buy beers on Sundays in Indiana.

Thanks for both the tips guys greatly appreciated. I won't have a bunch of time to dick around I'll be there on business and definitely appreciate the heads up about Sundays.

FYI, you can catch the tap lists of Bleachers and Bar Louie on Beer Menus. They both keep theirs updated pretty regularly.

I also second the Bare Hands recommendation, great stop just a few min from Mishawaka.

For bottles hit the City Wide on Grape and Edison. If you don't mind a 10-15 drive, I prefer the City Wide location in South Bend on Jefferson.

Zombie Dust rarely makes it into distribution, so it's not likely at all. You may get lucky and find it on tap though. Check the beer list for Uptown Kitchen when you are here. For some reason they get ZD on tap quite regularly.

Not sure if you noticed, but pitchers of craft at Bleachers are $6 (even for things like Dread). That being said, the clientele and ambiance are something to be desired...plus it's still a smoking establishment (if that bothers you).

    Good luck!

Chalet Party Shoppe on SR 17 in Elkhart which youll pass to and from mishawaka has an excellent selection. Otherwise city wide in mishawaka is pretty good. Don't waste your time with Belmont. Bar Louie has a nice selection or Uptown Kitchen in Granger which is minutes from mishawaka has fff on tap too

Also, cops LOVE giving DUI's in south bend/mishawaka so be really careful if you drink and then have to drive back to the hotel or anything.

how is the freshness on the FFF offerings in the area? I don't think they bottle date.

I travel to S. Bend once a month. Bare Hands and City Wide on Jefferson are my two must stops. City Wide has an awesome walk in cellar with vintage stuff. I actually stopped hitting 3 Floyds on my way back to Chicago and just go to Bare Hands instead.

City Wide & Chalet get fresh bottles each week, Belmont does too but some of their stuff sits out on shelves. No bottle dating.

just bought 5 bottles of dreadnaught and 1 bottle of artic panzer (had it on tap at the Ruth's Chris thought it was amazing) no idea about freshness so I either made a $70 mistake or $70 boon but I figure if out of all the mistakes I make this week the least expensive is $70 than fantastic. I went to Bleacher's pub last night I loved the atmosphere loved the bartender great selection, I had two stouts that I thought tasted oddly similar a Narwhal and southern tier 2x milk stout I'm wondering if their lines might be dirty, but I had a yeti right before I left and it was amazing. went to bar Louie same night more upscale very nice bar, great selection, bartender was not overly friendly had the FFF milk stout Moloko (sic) which was great and an Enjoy By 9-13-13. it's hard to say which bar I would hit up when in town again the two similar beers at Bleacher's made me think dirty line while the beer at Bar Louie was dynamite but I really liked the homey chatty atmosphere of Bleacher's whereas as Bar Louie felt cold and impersonal. Also had alpha king in bottle at ruth's Chris and on tap a Bleachers did not care for it. Did not try Pride and Joy not a huge pilsner fan.
