Missed it by that much...

With the vast reach of social media, I tend to miss out on stuff frequently because of work. Most recent example was Avery Rumpkin, though there have been many others. It really sucks for the 9-5ers who can't go across town during work to pick up a beer.

About 5-6 years ago I hadn't found any KBS for a couple of years, and someone posted in the GL forum that this obscure bottle shop about 150 miles from my home (it's actually a c-store/gas station) had a couple 4-packs left. I knew I would be traveling on business the following week nearby, so I crossed my fingers that it would still be there when I arrived. It wasn't. The cashier said that she had sold the last one about 20 minutes before I got there. Bummer. But I did find a 4-pack of KBS in each of the following two years, and still have some of that sitting in my cellar.

 

I remember feeling lucky when I found a place 20 minutes away that said they had bells hopslam at 11am one day. I got there by noon and the guy told me they were sold out. I've had this beer plenty of times on tap, but have never scored it in bottles

 

As my profile pic might indicate (although it was taken at 3f's not at the liquor store), I was texted that there Big Red had gotten Zombie Dust in, I proceeded to run at a full sprint about a mile to the store only the be the first person not to get any. It wasn't that big of a deal, as I got a bomber of Dreadknaught as a consolation. I have never had ZD in bottles only ever on draft.
