    OP, my condolences.

I could not imagine loosing my cat. Sadly she doesn't have long, recently found out that she has diabetes and needs insulin shots twice a day :slight_frown:

You hit the nail on the head, the pain has subsided and its to the point where I actually enjoy thinking of her because it makes me laugh. It also makes me happy that I was fortunate enough to spend 11 years with her. Although I am doing better now, I just remember how miserable that first few weeks were. Pets are family.

This is Jarvis, our 13 yo White Boxer on Sunday May 6th at the vet when we had to put him down. He had been suffering siezures since Thanksgiving, progressivly getting worse. He was totally deaf but whas the best dog I have every had. Obeyed through hand signals and in my wifes case her facial expressions. BUT if you posed a threat to one of us or the other puppies he would tear you up.
    We will miss him.

I lost my dog back in 1988 and I still have his dog tags on my keys. I do not want to go through that again. When I met my wife she had a little white dog that has now become my "daughter" as well. It will be very bad if we lose her. No beer will be able to subside that pain. So sorry for your loss. Keep your head up.

I agree, no beer will ever subside the pain, just hopefully a little something to put a temporary smile on someone's face.

I appreciate it, thanks for the oportunity to share his picture and story.

I am also very sorry for your loss, it is a sick, sinking feeling when you look around for your beloved pet when you come home and then you realize they are not there.

This is all too familiar bro. Had to put my 11yr old boxer Muggsy down this past March and saying goodbye to a friend is never easy. Sometimes I still expect that ol slobberin' Mugglebutt to come running when I get home or enter the yard.

Good on you for sharing your story and some good beers. I thought about starting my own LIF but have had some real downs lately including job loss so my heart goes out.

    Cheers!

Sad to say I am a qualifier for this. My brother and I had to put down our girl Sidney earlier this week.

She was a great dog and will be sorely missed.

Thanks for the gesture OP and if my name gets pulled you can be sure I will be sharing with my brother and raising our glasses for Sid.

That phrase holds special meaning to me personally. I'd like to see the Bruery make a provisions beer called that. I'd max out my allocations for sure, regardless of price and style of beer.

My condolences to every person in this LIF... I have lost two Rottweilers in the past few years and they were both really tough on me. So much so, I haven't been able to bring myself to get another one. :slight_frown:

echoing others, my condolences to everyone in the thread. OP, good thread idea, i know it's devastating to lose a pet and it's good to get a little support from BAs (or anyone).

myself, it's been years since i've had a dog, but you don't really forget how shitty it is when they go.

Where to start. I apologize in advance for the rambling. I'm at work and can't sleep.

First off, I'd like to thank everyone who offered their condolences. I know hundreds of people lose their beloved pets everyday but when it happens to you it kind of makes you feel isolated, like your the only one who has to deal with it. It's nice to know other people understand the emotions that come with such a loss.

I'm so glad this LIF is officially closed. Although not my intention, this thread did become somewhat of a downer and as a result, I will start a much more fun LIF in the near future. Even though it was depressing, I still hope the original intention of this LIF serves its purpose. I know I can't replace or erase the memories of your pets (which I wouldn't want to) with beer but hopefully I can add a little happiness to your day that may not otherwise be there. Although not a requirement, I stated it would be cool if the "winners" could start a similiar LIF in the future. I still like the principle but I completely understand if you don't, as depressing as this one was. Maybe you can be more creative than me (not hard to do) and come up with a better way to help someone who has lost a pet.

On to the "winners". Everytime I clicked on this thread I had an "oh,no" thought in my mind because I didn't want to see anyone else added to the drawing. Unfortunately there were. From what I read, I have biggene, libby, dustinsmall and blueokie.
*Blueokie asked not to be entered (although he qualified) but I contacted him and practically insisted. Apparently he and his wife take in quite a few strays so losing a pet isn't all that unfamiliar to him, although still painful. He told me he truly hoped someone else wins. I'm entering him regardless, taking in strays deserves a box all on its own.
*cmmcdonn-sorry you didn't qualify but I truly hope everything worked out for your sisters dog

I went back and forth with how to handle the drawing and came to one conlcusion. There will be no drawing. I know all of you are already going through a tough time and I couldn't bring myself to only pick one person to "win". I told myself at the beginning that if there were 2 people then I would do 2 boxes, then there was a third. I told myself, ok I can do 3 but if there is one more then I have to do the drawing. No can do, all four of you will receive a box. I know each of you could use a little happiness.

Instead of one person getting a big box loaded with TX beers I will send out 4 smaller boxes with approx 3 beers each. Each box will be very similiar because again, I don't want anyone to feel left out. One beer will be different in each box. There will be a beer that stands out amongst the rest, you'll know which one I'm talking about. All I ask is when you open that beer, you toast to our furry four legged (in all of our cases cats and dogs) friends, past and present, and try to be "happy" thinking about the good times we had.
Biggene, libby, dustinsmall, and blue okie I'll BM you as well but please send me your shipping info.

Cheers to Madison, Sidney, Jarvis, Ebeneezer and Bindy!
