Has this ever happened to anyone?

It happened to me 3 times in the past month. A couple weeks ago a Mother of All Storms was gone with the extras remaining...had to re send. Yesterday in the BIF Survivor hauls thread a Sweet 16 was gone...have to resend. Then today I am missing a Twilight of the Idols...have to fix this too.

I am almost positive I am not losing my mind. I pack boxes at work mostly. There is no left over beer in my office ever.

    Dude sounds strange as hell
Have any recipients of boxes noticed cut tape.

Maybe pack with a specific item on top
    To tell if been open

Not sure if I'm being paranoid but I think the guy at my usual stop is on to me and takes his cut.

Like an ink pack? Sounds like one of those Craigslist beer sellers got wise and got a job at a FedEx sort facility, this sounds suspicious, and there he goes.

Do you drop off at a specific location every time? Try using another UPS/FedEx store next time, and see what happens.

Could a problem like an employee stealing things from a box be reported even if it's against policy? I would probably be pissed enough to go to your regular stores manager and report missing items from multiple boxes, even though you're shipping beer. Regardless of whether or not it's against policy, stealing is stealing and that person should be fired. They should at least know someone in their store might be taking things from people's boxes. It's not like they're going to have anything on you as long as you switch stores.

Just kinda thinking out loud since I absolutely despise thieves. Next time you should send an accomplice bottles full of spoiled milk. Let that bastard take whatever he wants and let him think next time about taking other people's shit! Hell, if you find out it is someone there, I'll be your spoiled milk recipient if you want! Fuckin thieves!

I gotta ask which Rochester spot you're using. Monroe/Webster/Jefferson/one of the pack&ships? One of those is my favorite, and one I won't use at all.

I worked at UPS for 3 1/2 years, and they are really strict about security. You can't bring in anything or leave with anything, not even your cell phone. This would put the blame on the people you drop it off with before it gets into the system. Start by talking to the manager there.

Stop drinking while you are packing your boxes.

I had a box arrive once that was missing the main bottle I traded for. Unbeknownst to me or my trading partner , it Turns out bottle broke during shipping, they repacked the box and it arrived here with no problems. There was an hour or two of WTF texts between me and my very good trading partner until we did the math and figured out what happened.

Take a photo of your beers before you pack them so you can eliminate the "crazy" variable.

Weird. I've never used them, but I know the spot well. I usually use the fedex on Jefferson or the one across from Hegedorns. I've had nothing but bad luck with the one on Monroe.

There's a fedex worker laughing right now at how much hes messing with your head. Solution: Send out a bottle of something crazy rare and fill it with water and Ez-Lax.

Confront that mofo! Say, "Hey Bro, I want my walez back." Maybe offer to trade him a Heady Topper to get back said walez. If things aren't going your way, get Heady Topper involved and it will seal the deal.

Seriously, good luck. That's some bullsh.t.

I'll take those odds. My others bookie only gave me 3-1 in favor of the OP.

Buy some unique tape - something with a design on it. Make sure the unique tape is the top piece on both the top and bottom of the box. If someone cuts that tape, it will be obvious, because they'll have to use something else to close it up. Then you know for sure.
