The problem is that I am 6'2" 245lbs and he could throw me across the room with one arm tied behind his back. Nice kid but he "touched my beer". Grrrrrrrr.

It's your house, it's not they're taking your Bud. I'd confront the hell out of them, keep your hands off or your all barred. It's not exactly tricky.

Its inevitable. Tell them they can have whatever tjey want but they have to sit and enjoy it with you. The time spent with the conversation worth the cost.

Do you have a security system? Go to Amazon, buy a fake video camera (some have lights that blink as well), put that up in the corner. If anything, you all might get a laugh out of it, and.. maybe some answers.

One of the things I found fondly amusing last year was.. my youngest son (33) and I were taking a ride, and he confessed to a lot of things he did growing up. Most were things like swiping some cash, driving my personal truck while I was using my company truck.. stuff like that. He was shocked when I told him I already knew most of it.

My situation is e exact opposite, my son lives in Brooklyn and works all 5 Burroughs (sales). When ever he comes home he brings me all kinds of great stuff. He's a good boy. Of course he drinks my stuff when home but it's a nice give ans take.

I keep waiting for my 17 and 19 year old and their friends to pull this shit but it hasn’t happened yet. At least not that I have figured out. It’s kind of a right of passage but I would be pissed if one of my 14 Arron’s got pilfered. Cheers.

Also keep in mind that if you have anything embarrassing in the house, they've probably found it by the time they turn 18. I even learned to pick locks as a kid...

I like the idea of a fake video camera, but make it obviously fake. Then hide a real one that records to a card. Should be real entertaining when they think they're home free with the fake camera. Make sure the real camera has audio, you'll hear them saying "if your old man knew how to put in a real camera, he'd know we already...".

You shouldn’t have to tell him a damn thing, he should know better unless he’s like 14. I wouldn’t lock my beers up either, that’s bs.

Bait n Switch buddy. Leave stuff you're not attached to where they can get it, but lock your good stash up tight.

Side story: Growing up, a couple of my Dads friends worked at the Genesee brewery in Rochester. Those guys were allowed to bring home beer. So, there was always beer around. By the time we were in our teens, we were kinda doing the old guys a favor by jacking their beer.

They needed space for the new stuff.

Sure, we'd get our asses handed to us in front of the Moms. But, our Dads? They knew they were helping us, by not having to go to sketchy places just for a 6er.

    Different times, buddy, different times.

Indeed. Different times. My Dad was strictly a Manhattan drinker - 3 a day at least for the 18 years we lived under the same roof. Dewars...lots of it. I never dared pull that bait and switch shit on Chet — not cause I feared him but because that stuff smelled like paint thinner! There was occasional black label — July 4th and maybe around the holidays — but that shit was vile too. Cheers buddy.

Boobie traps work well. To be on the level with the next generation, tell them you got your cellar filled with traps like in Fortnight. They'll understand and stay far away
