So I recently completed a trade but one of the agreed on beers was not shipped. My trade partner said he has never done something like that before and would get a new box out asap after a business trip he was on until yesterday. That was 4 days ago and I have not heard from him since. I even suggested adding a few others to the box and that I could send out another box on my end to make the shipping worth while but still no word.

What should my next course of action be? I just started trading (this is my second one) and im not sure what I should do with this. Thanks for any input and cheers!

Give the guy a bit of time. He was on a business trip until yesterday. Let's give him a few days to see if he makes good.

Doesn't seem like you should miss sending a bottle but it happens. I've had it done to me and the guy just made up for it on the next box he sent. I've also put the wrong bottles (wrong year then we agreed upon) in a box. Trade partner said don't worry about it but I told him to keep the bottles and I sent him the right bottles plus some extras for the trouble.

I doubt he was trying to rip you off.

Give it a bit more time. He said he is on a business trip and may not have time to shoot you a message. If he just wanted to screw you he probably wouldn't want to keep you on the line.

Who forgets to ship an agreed upon bottle?

Right and one of my worries is that it will get flipped back on me if I push it because he has like 20 good trades and I only have one. Do you think this could be a possibility?

4 days, cut the guy some slack.

Also, any chance that the box was damaged in route. I got a box once from a friend and a beer was missing. Turns out the box was damaged en route and repacked by FedEx, "missing" bottle must have broke on way.

Mistakes happen. I'd give him a few days.

As for pushing it retaliatory feedback is a cause for banning so I wouldn't sweat that.

Ask a mod if he's been online in the last 24 hours. (I wouldn't out him yet) If he hasn't then I would hang tight until at least a week after he got back. I would BM him within 72 hours of him getting back just to check in, but I'd give him a courtesy week since he said he would make good.

No damage to the shipment and total silence for 4 days is what has me worried since I have sent a few messages.

It happens. Had a guy sending me a number of SARA bottles who was supposed to include a Cask Strawberry and included a deaf Stewart instead. He was packing a number of boxes at the same time and told me he made a mistake, he let me know while the box was still in transit and offered to have the box returned and he would reship with the right bottle. Didn't want him to incur all at cost so I told him forget it and we'd make it up so,e other time.

Maybe it was a scam, but Point is People do make mistakes.

I don't think so, he told you oops he forgot, he'll ship. Makes him a dumb ass probably not a beer thief, if he has 20 trades and doesn't give you your bottle he's essentially done on this site. I doubt he jeopardizes his account for one bottle, but If he does just keep this thread going. Just out of curiousioty what does he owe you?

When I got the box I referred to there was no damage either, box looked perfect, only found out by looking at tracking info. Not saying this happened here but it is possible.

    Relax, 4 days is nothing.

Give him a chance to make good. And maybe stop sending messages. He told you what he was going to do, right? Give him a chance to do it, I'm not sure what's to be gained by sending him repeated messages after that.

With 20 trades probably not a scam, just makes him a dumb ass. Who would risk banishment with a 20 trade resume for a bottle? Could be, but that would surprise me.

You said he was on a business trip until yesterday right? So it has been less than 24 hours since he has returned?

Sometimes people actually do work on business trips. No cause for alarm yet, give him some time since he just came back. Check in a week from now.

The ba has twenty trades so I would give him the benefit of the doubt. Had a situation a while back where FedEx confiscated a box and the ba was to resend but suddenly had a death in the family. Said ba had 40+ trades and not once did I second guess. In the end he re shipped and everything worked out fine. If it was someone with 5 or less trades id worry but I wouldn't bat an eye at trusting someone with that many trades. Give it time it'll work out

I guess it's kinda easy to forget a big bottle with a big 17 on the label, whoops.

Lets see if he makes good then we can get out the pitch forks. Yes, it does seem fishy to forget a bottle but when somebody is trying to juggle multiple trades it can happen (why I try not to get involved in more than one at a time)

Your right of course, but forgetting a CW 17 is a bit .... Well ya know is not quite like forgetting to send one 12 oz bottle out of a sixer.
