He was in one of my NOOB BIF's about a year ago, no issues with him, so he was ok at one point.

Just stumbled onto this thread based on a search of CR. If it counts for anything this guy blows. Sorry to hear about your ordeal. I'd be interested if he coughs up his beer when he comes back from "business." This is the part were trading comes into question. Good luck Dr. and keep us posted.

As for being away he should man up and say I'm away on business so please hang onto your beer until I get back. How hard can that be? Seriously! Communication is not that hard unless you want to rip people off.

And I am in no way trying to defend what that shit bag did - I hope he gets what's coming to him.

You were expecting some to give you a Chocolate Rain for those beers?.
CWBBBW was $12 a 4 pk - 2 bottles would cover the Alpine.

Raspberry Tart is a $8-9 bottle - which brings you up to $15 total so far.
And depending on how many Abrasive or Furious you're talking about - Furious $10 4 pk / Abrasive $16 4 pk.

My point is - this "to good to be true" trade should've raised a red flag from the get-go.
I believe CR was a $40 bottle.
It's pretty hard to land $4$, unless the beer you're trading is comparably limited.

Like I said earlier - sorry about the burn.
And I'm not saying either that it couldn't have happened to me - I'm pretty trusting.
But maybe a lesson learned, as well.

Yes, she expected to get the beers that were agreed upon in the trade that was agreed upon. People trade up and down in rarity and $4$ every day, for various reasons and sometimes for no reason at all.

 

red flag or not, someone agreed to a trade and didn't follow through. i've seen plenty of instances where "red flag" trades came through. someone traded me a ba kopi speedway for my 2011 dark lord (knowing exactly what he was giving up). you bet he'll get hooked up on our next trade.

regardless though, if i've never traded with someone and they're not super well known on the forums (think mordormongo, grumpyoldtroll, etc.), i've started checking references, especially if they've traded with someone i know.
