Mission Street Anniversary Ale is a yearly release that you can get at Trader Joe's. Saw some reviews start popping up, so I assume it has released in some parts of the country. To all BAs, I was wondering if it's out by you yet, and what your thoughts are or if you plan on picking up any this year.

Had a bomber two weeks ago and it's quite tasty particularly at $3.49. It's got a little coffee, chocolate, toasty combo going. If you like brown ale, it's decent.

    Is this brewed by Firestone?

    I believe that is true.

edit: Steinhaus Brewing Company, but that is FW.

Yes, it is brewed by FW under the company mentioned above. It's out at TJ's in New Mexico and I am absolutely planning to pick a few bottles up.

We don't get Firestone Walker in New Mexico, which pains me because I love their brews, with the exception of the TJs beers. I remember loving last year's version and really enjoyed the Stockyard Stout, which I believe they brew as well.

it's pretty darn good, and at that price you really can't pass it up

My thought, as I'm having one right now, is that this is one fine beer at a great price. Sure it is not mind-numbingly complex or anything. It drinks like a fine, hoppy, brown ale with some hearty, malt goodness, and balancing earthy hops. I'm glad I picked this one up. A quick rating lands this at a very respectable 4/5.

I picked it up on impulse at TJ's Saturday and drank it while making dinner last night. It was OK, no complaints but nothing special.

Saw it, then saw a sixer of Hopslam just around the aisle and got that instead. $17.99 for 6? And it was just sitting there! Would have been a crime to just leave it there all lonely like that.

If I remember correctly Firestone Walker is phasing out there contract brewing so this may be the last year to get this beer. I picked up a few over the weekend and enjoyed one so far. As with all of the Steinhaus beers it was a good beer at a great price.

It's a blend of roughly 60% ESB, 20% Imperial Stout, and 20% Reserve Porter. Makes it an imperial brown. A little sweet, a little roasty. Worth the price no doubt

I didn't like the blend last year, but at the price, I will always pick it up to try it out.
