Looks like I'll be heading to Missoula the second weekend in August. Any great brewpubs? I'm not all thrilled about Big Sky brewing, but do they have some good brewery-only beers? I'm not a fan of much anything bottled from them.
You should look into Flathead Lake or Tamarack downtown. They both have good beer and good food. Also, there's Draught Works, no food but they usually have a food truck scalping bbq stuff.
What he said, plus check out Kettlehouse (southside) for some fun beers you can only get there (and they have a Randall, but no food). If you're looking for some fun bottle shops you can hit up Summer Sun Brew Supply (next to Draught Works) or the Good Food Store.
You should also look into Worden's and Orange Street Market or Food Farm. I think ^that guy owns Summer Sun. They're more expensive by an average of 15%, so if price is your thing, I'd go with the others. I believe Worden's is just as local though, if you're more into that.
I used to live in Hamilton, and MBF is definitely not the owner of Summer Sun. Wordens is the most expensive spot in town by a lot. Black Butte XXV is about $4 more expensive there than anywhere else last I heard. Missoula has a cool scene, Draughtworks is the best brewery that makes beers on-site. Tamarack and Flathead are about even IMO. Head down 93 and some of breweries in the Bitterroot Valley.
Yeah, my bad they've dropped their prices. I actually like Summer Sun and I just realized how crazy I sounded.
