I had a sample of the Indira at a tasting, and really didn't care for it in that context. However, with the proper food pairing (and I don't even know what that might be) it could be really good.
Likewise even Crème Brulee. I had a bottle of that, and it ended up being my one and only drain pour. Couldn't choke it down.
However, a 8 - 10 ounce serving, paired with a dark chocolate torte or something fairly bitter like that would be a perfect match.

As long as freshness is there I can't see them being mentioned with the likes of the Southern Tier cavity series(pumking, creme brulee, choklat)

I'll add Brooklyn BCS to the mix

I don't know why people even argue about Pliny and Heady.. We should just be thankful those 2 beers exist for our consumption.

I thought Abita Spring IPA was a stroke of genius. In reviews I see some high praise but as many saying it's meh.

The vast majority love it since it has a 91 on here. It FLIES off the shelves and people routinely grab cases of it.

I think it's mostly a pissing contest between homers. But I think a lot of folks have one and "get it" and have the other and don't.

They're both damn good, but I look forward to the day when they are no longer the king and queen of the IIPA world.

Good call on DFH's ancient ales. I'm not a big fan of the ones I've tried, but DFH as a whole probably falls into this love it or hate it category. I feel like half of Jester King's beers are total fails, but others really seem to enjoy them.

I agree with you about Jester King, especially RU-55.

    They've done studies.

But to answer the OP's question, Green Flash Friendship Brew. I don't *looooove* it, but I thought it was pretty darn tasty and I know there is a ton of dislike for it.

You didn't like RU-55? That's one of my favorite beers they make lol.. I'm not a big fan of El Cedro, Viking Metal or their regular line up.

Attempted Redrum. When I had my first bottle shortly after it was released, I hated it. All I tasted was rum and I couldn't even finish it. Let another bottle sit for 3 months, and was very curious to see if my outlook would change once I cracked it open. After the first sip I was amazed. Everything balanced so well and it was one of the best beers I've ever had. Needless to say, I was on both sides of the spectrum with the same beer.

Good example. I thought that was the worst beer I've had from Green Flash by far.

Well this totally lines up with the title of the thread eh? I didn't like RU-55 because I am not a fan of sours, but I did like Commercial Suicide, Le Petite Prince and Black Metal

    Wow.

Although if I had only drunk about 3 oz. of the stuff my own opinion might have been on the positive side as well ("smells and tastes like breakfast!"). But that damn beer just got worse and worse as it went on, becoming both overly cloying and harsh by the end of it. Ultimately a failure, I'd say.

I remember Dayman getting mixed reviews. One of my favorite beers of all time. I hope the haters didn't seal its fate as a one-off. I know everyone that enjoyed it really, really enjoyed it. Hopefully it returns!

RE: Indra Kunindra - absolutely drink it with food. Do not try to drink it all alone in a glass. This spells disaster. I like this beer a lot, but I was homebrewing in my hot garage one day, opened a 22 oz of it... and much of the bomber went into the gutter. Sad but true.
