I have been enjoying a lot of blends lately as well. I was just thinking of trying a new one last night but could not pull the trigger. Maybe this will talk me into it. If someone has tried or thinks it would be good. Half New Glarus Cherry Stout and half New Glarus Apple Ale. I am only hesitant because I live in Az and got these beers in a trade. I have plenty of stout and only one apple left and I dont want to waste it. I thought the cherry stout was just ok but I loved the Apple Ale.

One of the best black and tans I've made was with 60% ruination and 40% BORIS. Just outstanding...

Double Crooked Tree and Plead the 5th is a bad idea in a glass that tastes something close to an Imperial Black IPA, it is worth a shot at least once.

There's a restaurant in suburban Minneapolis that mixes Surly Bender and Furious and calls it Fender. It's spectacular.

Not a bad idea, Youngs Double Chocolate seems like a better pair to be but ultimately the same idea going on here.

Bell's with Black Note. Southern Tier with Mokah and Gemini. FFF Baller Stout. There are a fair number of commercial examples.

Don't get me wrong, I love Schlenkerla Urbock on it's own, but I also love using it in blends. The Urbock/Impy Stout thing is something I do a lot. My latest fave is with Weyerbacher Old Heathen because it is so seamless- you don't know where one beer ends and another begins. They just seem to belong together.

I don't mix beers very often, but my most recent mix was a 50/50 blend of Stone Lukcy 13asartd (Lucky Bastard) and DFH Olde School. It was pretty good!

Lukcy 13asartd is also a blend of Double Bastard, Arrogant Bastard, and Oaked Arrogant bastard.

This is why a packaged blend like for example a brewer putting out a black n tan is always a bit dodgy and boring, a blend is so very personal to someones tastes and this is an excellent example of personal taste and experimentation which is great but can't be mass produced. Even though I know much like wine, brewers have been blending for centuries...sometimes the best blends are the ones you make yourself

Flat Bourbon Angel's Share with Victory at Sea is incredible, about 65-35 ratio in favor of Vas.
