    Amigos,

A few of us have come to the realization that we need a term for the (admittedly uncommon) act of deliberately mixing, in the glass, different beers in order to enjoy some interesting new tastes. We propose to call this mix a "verschmelzung" after the German word for "a blend". What doth ye say?

I've been doing this for a while and call it a 'blend', which is English for verschmelzung.

It's just called a blend... and it's actually very common. So much so that there are several threads already dedicated to it on here.

Saranac suggested blending their irish stout and their irish lager in their latest case. I also blended the pale ale and the dry stout. It was a first for me because I could not remember what the box had said. I was pleasantly surprised. I might have to try it again.

I say Gesunheit and blend away.

I'm a big fan of blends, mostly Russion Imperials & DIPA's but my favorite is 3 or 4 beers in my belly.

The way I see it if I'm having several different brews they're all gonna be blended together eventually so I may as well experiment a little.
