Wasn't sure if anyone was thinking about organizing this one again this year? I was lucky enough to join the post all star version and it made watching baseball a hell of a lot of fun...There was a lot of good BAs in it... I tried searching for the past thread - and understand that its a ways in the past...just figured it may be up and going again soon now that spring training is underway.. Thanks for any info, would love to join again if it gets active!

I actually didn't know that this was ran in the past and was thinking about a BIF like this. But having 0 experience running a BIF, I don't think I'd be the man for the job. I would def love to participate though.

Copied from runyourpool.com which I've used in the past to run this pool amongst friends of the non BA type.

Here are the rules for our 13-Run pools:
A maximum of 30 members can join a pool
Each member is assigned a Major League team
Each time your team plays, the number of runs they scored will be tracked
The goal is to be the first member to have their team score every number, from 0 to 13 runs.

That is ofc if this is what everyone else is talking about. Thats what I've always known a "run pool" as.

I wouldn't mind running it if I could get some help/mentoring on BIFs. I realize there's a lot to keep track of and with 30 teams/BA's I might be biting a bit more off than I can chew on my own.

thats' the one... last time it was for something simple... the 1 winner was to receive at least 44 oz of beer - extras not required by always welcome... the reason the oz was on the lighter side was a.) the person was getting 29 boxes and b.) the boxes weren't always light... i won the 2nd half [post allstar game till the end] and was overwhelmed - in a good way - with brews from all over... i imagine the winner of the first half was likewise...i think pitasoup may have ran the first one? i've been digging through past beermails to verify...

I ran the first half last year, I was not anticipating running it again this year as I am a bit busier with work this year than i was last.

I can help you with whatever you need to know to run it:
we used a spreadsheet in google docs, I just manually updated it whenever I had the chance, here's the completed sheet from last year for reference.

I would be interested in this as well. I would like a little more clarification on the rules, but count me in. Would the teams that are assigned be a random thing? I think that would be best so that everyone doesn't pick the Yankees, Red Sox, Angles, etc... If you are "stuck" with the Pirates, Mariners, Astros then so be it.

Yup that's how it was done last year. Some sort of random drawing. In the post all-star break round, we only had 27 people I think and nobody got the Red Sox.

I would be down if there is still room and most likely also for the post all star break round if the first as fun as it sounds. I missed the previous years.
