Nice to see North Country Brünette will be released next week:

    When: Mon, May 5, 8am – Sun, May 11, 10pm
Where: August Schell Brewing Co, Schell's Road, New Ulm, MN, United States (map)
Description: August Schell Brewing Co: This is the third release in the Noble Star Collection, and will be released during Minnesota Craft Beer Week. North Country Brünette is our interpretation of a Märzen-style Berliner Weisse. This beer has been aged for nearly a year in one of our original, 1936 cypress wood lagering tanks, and checks in at 5.4% abv.

I went to the Guild's website. Their calendar of events is cluttered and sucks. Last year someone (hoenstiens maybe? or some other distributor?) put together a list of special kegs and tap takeovers as a picture. Does anyone know of a simplified list of the special kegs and TTO's that are happening that week?

That Brau Brother's night is a definite off that list. Also, Northbound are releasing a few special beers that week that might be interesting.

I am sure that there is more than what is listed on the MN Brewer's Guild site, so people can post additional events to this thread and hopefully the moderators won't have a cow if their is a slight bending of the pimping rules if bars and/or distributors contribute by posting their own events.

And of course for the Twin Cites metro area, there will be the May edition of the What's on tap for anything else that may slip through the cracks.

Here is an MPR feature from today:

It was served last night at Better Beer Society University. Jace Marti himself showed up with several of these beautiful bottles. An amazing beer and I highly recommend trying it. Cannot wait for the release to retailers next week!

Not only is the list shitty, but the Twin Cities really haven't embraced this week the way some other places have. I mean, there are two or three events that might make me maybe considering thinking about getting my lazy ass off the couch. Summit, really? A "tap takeover" with your regular old lineup? I can't even muster a yawn for that.

Check out a city that does it right (both the events & website):

Twin Cities brewers, take notice! We don't need a Triple Barrel Aged 22% Quad-RIS cross-pollination, but a few more fun nights with beer that's not available every day of the year would be much more motivating.

American Craft Beer Week is the week after and that's when the cities sees a lot of cool offerings.

I'm hoping that some BCBS is left over to Sunday at City Cafe to kick it off.

Yeah, not sure what the deal is with our craft beer week. I think if it was held towards the end of the nice weather season in Mn people may be more inclined to embrace it. Right now we are all still shaking off our winter hangover. Shit, maybe stage it as run up to ABR or even have it in the dead of winter. Who knows. Mn Spring is such a weird thing, no constants, too many variables.

    So I decided 2 things.....
    1) BCBS is amazing
    2) 3 is too many....I love in your face bourbon...BUT one to two at a time is plenty
