I like what Brady did last week so… Starting now, and ending at 8 PM on Saturday February 28, you may enter the contest. Entering consists of adding 1 (one) comment below, Stating your favorite young (2 years or less) MN brewery. I'll do a random number generator for as many comments as are entered below, only enter if you want to win and can pick up the beer. You or a friend you select can pick up this beer up in downtown Mpls in next 2 weeks with 24 hrs. notice. (Monday-Friday preferred) I also urge you to hold a similar, IP Beer giveaway in the next 2 weeks. So you will have your choice of the below. Listing names, I’m not going to make it that easy. Below are anagrams of beers names. You can solve so you can pick out the specific beer or if you win you can always choose a number. Hints None of these beers are brewed/distributed in MN BA score of the beers are 100, 99, 90, 89 rating high to low All bottles are 22 oz or 750 ML Names of the breweries are part of 3 on the anagrams and marked to help. 1. Yep trustworthy burner ace (includes brewery name) 2. Wakeful Bacteria snores (includes brewery name) 3. Jar eagle chili spice 4. Tin ball keg eject marks (includes brewery name) Cheers! Seth Also… First person to solve all beer names and post all the names and you will get the second choice from the list of beer. You can win both.
I love anagrams, I got 2. and 3. in a couple minutes, the other ones are a bit tougher so far. The last one is especially frustrating!
So close... two ouf of four. On the bright side, I did manage not to do any work for the last hour. Hammerheart - and nice post!
Wow! I'm no good at anagrams, but my favorite "new" brewery in MN is Bauhaus! They put out under-the-radar but stellar brews. Jingle Fever was awesome.
I would say Indeed, but they were opened ~ Fall 2012, so they are over the 2 year limit. I'm going to go with Bent Paddle, (opened in May 2013) which puts them about 2.5 months shy of their 2nd birthday.
I'll take Indeed as my "new" favorite. Screw your rules, Seth! I was already a victim of this beer-gifting madman this winter, so I will stay out of this one!
Having a rule of 2 years or less makes this more difficult than I thought. Isn't DM over 2 years old now since they just celebrated their 2nd anniversary with the barrel aged beer bottle sale? Result of me being a stickler for the rules: DM dq'd, Indeed dq'd
It's Fair State for me. They had three different hefeweizens on tap the first time I went there and that's all I needed. As a sentimental favorite, I like LTD in Hopkins. Great vibe there and since I occasionally bowl at Tuttle's, I like to stop by before bowling for a pint. I plan to take my wife and two month old soon.
Sorry late morning after day 2 of winterfest. Thanks everyone for posting and Chris for the quick answers on the beers. So the winner of the random number pick is... @mkhartnett I'll BM you and we can work out the details. Cheers!
