What are the typical growler refill prices these days? I've kind of lost track. They have definitely gone up over the years as have prices on other things in some cases...

I remember $8 fills being the norm awhile back....now it seems more like $10 or am I too low with that even. Just curious. I'm guessing it is due to cost of materials going up over the years?

Town hall is $9 with exchange or $13 if you dont bring back their growler/first time.

It might be $1 more. I forget.

Growler refills at the Nova typically run @ $10 unless you're looking for Cuvee or Hottenroth which run $25+. Town Hall is $9.50 with specialties a few bucks more. Barley John's run $13-$17 unless its a speciiality like Dark Knight, which ran $80, if I recall.

I havent had a fill there in years, but good to see prices are the same. Thats about what they were in '06 there.

Some places are crazy on the growler deposit now too- I think Flat Earth is something like 8 bucks

I've concluded that is why the growler law has not changed. These places like to make money on the markup of selling the glassware as well.

Honestly, with $10 for PsuedoSue in Hudson & $9.50 for refills at Town Hall, I haven't bothered with any of the new guys growlers. Value to quality & consistency just isn't there IMHO.

Exactly. When I am in the cities those are the only two places I buy growlers. Plus in Hudson I can utilize the multitude of growlers I already have in my possession...

Growlers don't make much sense when it's Steel Toe or something else I can buy bottles of.

I respectfully disagree with this sentiment. The experience from drinking pints out of a growler is, to me, more of an expression of appreciation for the brewery than simply purchasing a bottle at the cheapest retailer. But, that's the romantic in me. Plus, shits hella fresh!

Plus 64 fresh ounces of Size 7 is cheaper in a Growler than 3 bombers.

Ditto the post above me. Under 2 beers in a bomber vs. 4 pints? No brainer, really.Done deal,Shaquille.

And the Hudson "grab a growler any growler" rule rocks. Its a friggin' GLASS VESSEL lawmakers!

Zap-did your "up north" brewery review get zapped? Wish I would have copied it.I'm headed to Walker
to Moondance tomorrow. Its a shame if the beer police tagged you with an extraction of truth and thoughtfulness.

You may now resume this thread.

Boy I hadn't noticed that happened...I see it hasn't....I've lost one's before though that were critical of burgers at some places....not sure why that happens...not enough focus on beer? Maybe the place complained...

No, you pay $8 only if you buy one of their growlers. You don't have to, just bring your own (from anywhere, as long as it's see-through). Or next time you go back, just take the same one and they will refill it.

Same for Pseudo Sue in Hudson. $10 for a growler, or $5 a bomber. If you plan on cranking through 4 pints, or sharing w/ friends-growler is the way to go there.
